What’s changed?

Routing issues caused by incorrectly placed markers fixed,
A new downtown supernatural hangout,
An arboretum in Bradford – surrounded by parks & gardens,
Several new homes (plus some existing homes now furnished),
Witches stadiums,
The shopping centre in Cherry Lane is now one lot to encourage more Sims to gather on the lot,
A couple of alchemy consignment stores,
Seasonal festival lots in Oak Park and Bradford,
New Sims in the save game bringing the total families up to 17.

Installation
First and foremost, your game will need to be patched to the most up to date version.

If you have the old version of St Claire installed, you will need to back up your saves, sims and make any copies of lots you want in the new version, uninstall the old St Claire world, delete the file from your downloads and delete the world cache folder. Then you are ready to install the updated world.

To install the world, simply extract the file from the rar, double click the Sims3Pack file to install it via the launcher. Install any cc you might need following the links above. To install the save game, all you have to do is extract the folder from the rar, and copy that folder to you My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Saves folder. Then load up the game and save and play!

If you have the problem where the launcher installs the world, but it doesn’t show up in game (this happened to me before I was fully patched) there is a workaround here: http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=494212
I do, however, recommend you patch your game to the most recent version to avoid any issues.

Some Sims like the hustle & bustle of the big city, while others prefer a much slower pace, in a place where they can relax and enjoy natures bounty. Pounawea is just such a place.

The township, situated on an estuary, lies where the Owaka and Catlin rivers meet. A wonderful place to fish, hike and relax, Pounawea is a popular summer holiday spot, with its spectacular waterfalls, gorgeous views of the mountains, and friendly locals. In recent times, the idyllic town was chosen as the site for a premier golf course, and with it came tourists and their money, a very luxurious golf club and brand new visitor centre. Fortunately (or not, depending on your point of view) the town has retained all its sleepy character, which you’ll notice as you wander down the main stret, with its small shops long overdue for a makeover.

Despite its small size, you’ll find plenty to do in Pounawea. Performers can be seen regularly at the swanky club in the new Golf Club, with smaller acts performing in the basement club & Community Centres. Of course the locals prefer to have a pint at the local watering hole, where budding musicians are often found practicing their new songs. There’s a lot this town doesn’t have, but what it does have is just wonderful.

Map size: Large map, however town occupies only a small area on map.
World filesize: ~80mb
Expansions required: All EP’s, SP’s optional.
Residential Lots: 30 total; 20 built & fully furnished; 10 empty lots.
Commercial lots: Grocery; Fish & Chip Shop (Diner); Community Hall (Hangout); Gym; City Hall/Police/Mil; Bookstore; Offices; Spa; Restaurant; Consignment Store; Nectary Library; Playground; Medical Centre; Graveyard; Pub; Fire; Fishing Spot; Private Venue (Golf Club); Sports Club(Golf Club); Visitor Centre (Hangout); School; Salon; Beach; Art Gallery. I think that’s everything!

CC Required: Jynx Rabbithole Doors & Rugs; Awesims Cornice & Terrain Paints (merged into 1 package). No other CC required, no store content.

This world is designed to be relaxed, “holiday-ish” coastal Otago town, and as such doesn’t have some of the rabbitholes or community lots. There is no stadium, no movie theatre, only 2 bar types (sports & dive bar), no junkyard (but there are junkyard spawners behind the nectary & some junk piles there), and no movie set. There are, however, a few empty lots should you wish to place your own. There is not a great deal of room for expansion in this world, but if your sim wants the simple life, this is the world for you!

Save Game:
I was originally going to pre-populate the world, but have since decided to provide a save file instead, for people who wish to populate the world with their own sims. In the save game the world is populated with 15 different families, which gives the town a starting population of 57 sims. There is a diverse mix of sims, with different ages, genders, sexualities and ethnicities.

Known Issues & Notes
You may notice that when you first load the world, all fog emitters emit just fog – this is a known bug that can’t be changed. It is fixed by saving, quitting to the main menu then reloading the save. You’ll only have to do this once.

If you notice that the sky doesn’t have any clouds in it when you enter the world, save your game, exit to the main menu, then re-enter your save. The clouds etc should display as normal. This is a bug that happens with all worlds in some peoples games, but exiting to the menu and re-entering the save fixes it for that play session. You’re missing out if your sky is blank!

If you encounter lag
Is it right when you load the world for the first time? If so, that is most likely the world spawning register clerks & townies to fill the jobs needed in the town. If it is later in game play, then there could be a sim or animal stuck somewhere. I suggest you install Twallans Overwatch mod, to check if there are any stuck sims/animals in the town. It happens sometimes, but is easy to fix by resetting any stuck sims that are found with Overwatch. The mod also cleans up the hood every night of cars that have built up and are abandoned by townies, plus a host of other great features. I highly recommend getting it if you don’t have it already. Hi everyone! As promised, here is the long-awaited new world from me – St Claire – a fully featured, all EP small town/country/city world.

Please read and understand all information below about the world before installing, and especially before commenting about any issues you encounter. Click any image to view a larger version, and more images.

Situated on a peninsula, St Claire has fantastic sea views in almost every direction. There are 3 distinct areas that make up St Claire. Lets visit!

Bradford – a small sleepy town, where the founders of St Claire settled. Unfortunately since the district expanded many of the old homes have been demolished, leaving a select few historic properties on the main street and it has become more of a spa town. There are restaurants, spas, bookshops and even a quaint small town theatre.

Stag Island is home to the farmers and beach dwelling folk of St Claire. There’s the secluded Willow Bay, the perfect place for pre-dawn fishing; Fairview, the commercial hub of Stag Island, featuring bars, clubs and all manner of shops and recreational areas for sims to spend their days, including Oak Park where they have lots of SimFests! The equestrian centres near Sunset Bay and Rapaki, with all its long walking tracks and stunning views will be attractive for all you horsey types!

For more urban Sims, Downtown is the place to be. There are plenty of starter apartments in the slightly dilapidated but still pretty nice fringe suburb of Netherby, the perfect place for ambitious Sims to get their start. Downtown you will find many clubs & venues to set the night alight! There’s a wide variety of apartments, from super cheap basement apartments to SUPER expensive Kensington Brownstones & Penthouses with waterfront views.

I’ve included at least one of every community lot type in St Claire, and let me tell you that is a *lot* of community lots. Holy cow! I’ve also built and furnished a whooole bunch of houses/apartments, with the help of HannahJo & SimsArtGallery, and it took an absolute eternity – mostly because I built too many and got bored of decorating them all. You will notice that some houses are just completely empty :P There are enough fully furnished ones though, that townies will move in and you should be spoiled for choice of houses to move your sims into! While there are a ton of houses, there are still a TON of empty lots for you to plop your own houses down :) If the lot sizes are weird, you can always delete them and replace with whatever size you want, I left lots of space for you to customise to your needs.

The world has custom skies/weather type dealies, which cycle through randomly, overlapping and blending to magnificent effect. Its hard to accurately picture the individual styles in game, but here are a few shots of the weather from in CAW. In St Claire, there is a lesser chance of a string of perfectly clear days – the most predominant weather is partly cloudy, with a pretty good chance of an overcast or stormy day. I think its realistic and kindof awesome, as I get super sick of perfect days all the time. If, when you load the hood, you notice that the skies are completely blank, please exit to the main menu and re-enter the world. This is a known bug that happens with all worlds, custom or otherwise. I have to do it in my game and it is annoying but you only have to do it once per play session so it’s not a big deal.

Requirements
This world was made using ALL EXPANSION PACKS up to and including Showtime. NO STUFF PACKS are required.
Please do not ask me to release a world with fewer packs, or ask if it will work if you don’t have [__] E.P., because it won’t. Well, I have been getting a number of reports that it *WILL* indeed work without all the EP’s, the various showtime lots etc just get changed to generic community lots and the items replaced. So it might be worth your while having a crack at it if you don’t have all the EP’s. It might look a little strange though. because I have fully used all the items within the expansions I’ve used :)

All gobos & effects machines and blacklights in lots are reset when the world or lot is exported. You will be able to see a general colour theme in the lots I have created, so feel free to change the gobo lights to match whatever the general theme is in that lot. One lot in particular is “Dancing with the Stars” the high rise dance club Downtown. The top 2 floors of this building are designed to have blacklights on, for maximum effect! I highly recommend turning them on, and changing the gobo lights to purple and orange :)

Save Game File
To get your population started in St Claire, I have included a save game file including 9 families, lets briefly meet them shall we?

First up we have Naomi Haskins. Naomi is a childish diva with aspirations of fame! She lives in a Netherby basement apartment with her adorable partner in crime Biscuit. Its small beginnings but she’s determined to succeed!

Former model Kenya Oakley recently moved into the stylish Portobello neighbourhood in order to completely change her life. She decided a career as a stage magician was the only way to go! She’s super handy, perceptive and LOVES the great outdoors, which made St Claire the perfect place for her to begin her new career.

Yaeko Kensei also lives in the Portobello area with her two best friends Mimi & Kiko. This sweet yet a little bit snobby girl dreams of becoming a superstar athlete and is highly disciplined so is sure to achieve her goals!

Kori, Lavar and their daughter Anitra Teague are lifelong residents of St Claire. Lavar is a bit of a workaholic, is very artistic and is generally a good sort, he dreams of being a vocal legend, while Kori aspires to be a fashion phenomenon! Anitra can be childish and a bit clumsy at times she is generally a sweetheart.

Across the road from the Teagues live the rich and successful Holder family. Randal Holder was a successful Doctor and moved his family to St Claire for better opportunities in the medical career. His wife Kenisha loves cooking and riding horses, and can sometimes be a little snobby. She is a stay at home mum for Cody & Rickie, and who can forget wee Dusty the beloved family pet!

Though a complete loner with commitment issues, Quentin Villegas has somehow found himself with a long term girlfriend and a CHILD! He wouldn’t change a thing! He lives with Lillian and Eadie in historic Bradford, but travels into the city to further his musical career, while Lillian works to become an actor.

Sophie Bilson is… a little bonkers. She lives in Wickliffe Point with all her animals – Princess Chloe the cat, Pierre Cutiebottom the dog and Blossom the horse. She is the very definition of an animal lover and I don’t think these will be the only animals she has. I sense an episode of Animal Hoarders coming on…

Yoshi & Nikki Takashi are cooool cats. Nikki is a fabulous interior designer, while Yoshi curates the local art gallery. They live in their beautiful Tussock Bay home with their daughter Carmen and their dogs Spook & Imogen.

And finally, there’s me. Give my Sim a pet will ya? She likes kitties. Lots of kitties…

So there you have it! I don’t think there’s anything else to mention. There will no doubt be small problems with the world, as with any world. If you come across any problems that you just can’t fix up yourself real quick, please let me know in the comments so I can fix them up for the next update (I usually do one EP update per world)

Now, I know I haven’t updated in a really long time, the desire to mesh just hasn’t been there, but I have been working on a couple of new worlds, one of which is ALMOST done! Its quite large, we’re thinking Redcliffs large I think, and is CC & Store content free (except for my cornices… can’t resist!). The other is totally New Zealand themed, loosely based on a town down south in coastal Otago. I love the look of it, and I’m just now building a whole slew of New Zealandy houses for it. Fun!

I now have a Tumblr that I’ve been posting (heavily edited, haha) images of my progress on this new city world I’ve been making, so if you feel like following me on there go right ahead! I will try and post more regular images, I haven’t play-tested the world yet so when that happens, prepare for an onslaught of pics :P

Hey guys!
Well here it is, after much stress and toil, I give you the updated Queenstown, with a new country area – Gibbs Valley (thats Gibbs as in Gibson, not gibs in the gruesome counterstrike sense of the word! That would be hilarious though…). Gibbs Valley is a place for your Sims to get away from the hustle & bustle of Queenstown, get back to nature, and spend time in seclusion.

This isn’t a massive overhaul of the town or anything, it’s just a small addition to enrich the functionality of Queenstown to keep up with the Pets EP.

As you drive through Gibbs Pass towards the valley, you’ll notice the scenery change from Alpine, the flora is a little less evergreen, a little more dynamic. There’s room for your pets to run around freely, with large lots perfect for farms, or for breeding horses. Speaking of horses, what better way to train them by taking them for a nice long nature walk up Opal Peak, to take in the breathtaking views of Queenstown from the top. You can also relax in the hot springs at the top, and if you’ve got kids and they’re not already worn out from the major hike up the hill, there’s a playground to keep them occupied while you relax.

Gibbs Valley also houses the Equestrian Centre, and a jumping park to build those horsie skills. Dogs and cats are not forgotten, there is a large, landscaped dog park and cat jungle next to the Gibbs Valley Shopping Centre. There really is no need to go into town if you don’t want to! Unless of course you have school or work in the town… Then I guess you should!

A few other things have changed since the last release of Queenstown.
I have named & numbered all the lots with street numbers, and I’ve included a handy map for your convenience. I have also upgraded a few lots to be a little more functional and/or aesthetically pleasing, for example the restaurant now has an outdoor eating area, and there is a small cafe type place (serve yourself of course) outside the grocery store/theatre. The fire station now has the missing fire alarm too (still can’t believe I missed that in the first edition). I also included my Family Fun Park that I released separately in the world this time, as my sims use it all the time and I figured I might as well!

I’ve built 2 new houses – both farm houses in the new area, but apart from that there are no new residential lots.

World Requirements and Custom Content:

Before installing this world it is recommended that you back up your save games and additional lots you might have, delete your world caches folder and uninstall the original Queenstown. This world is updated using the original Queenstown world as a base, and so I think the old world will need to be uninstalled before installing the new one. Make sure the old world file is removed from the “Installed worlds” folder too.

The EP and Custom Content requirements are exactly the same as for the original Queenstown.
The same CC objects that were attached to the Queenstown world file are the same, except they have been updated for pets if required. I have attached a rar with the fixed CC separately for convenience, which includes the rabbit holes made by Raven Shadow @MTS. If you have already got Queenstown installed and updated all your CC then you will not need to do anything, just install the new world. Please ensure you read all the information for old Queenstown as well.

(Also, I will work on updating my CC over the weekend. Its apparent that most people will have already fixed their CC so I’m not sweating it too bad, but yeah, I’ll endeavour to have it done at the weekend…)

Edit, I see that TSR have released a batch fixing tool, and it is with limitations at this stage so I am going to hold off “fixing” things for a little while to see what happens. Of course you have the choice to fix any of my stuff that you have in your game already! No need to redownload uneccessarily :)

I have still not decided how I am going to handle my old downloads, because one of the limitations of the tool is that it creates files that don’t work on unpatched games and I know a looot of people (for whatever reason) don’t patch their games..

I know I said I’d never make a kitchen again because it really is a complete nightmare, but I saw a pic of one I really liked, and it was all over. So here we are :P

Its not a huge or particularly complete set (I didn’t bother with appliances, there are plenty of usable EA ones!) but it includes:

Kitchen counter;
Kitchen island counter;
Fridge surround (specifically made for my favourite fridge – the late night one, found in the wall cabinets section);
Wall cabinet;
Full wall cabinet;
A vertically shiftable wall mounted credenza (found in display surfaces);
A soffit that works as a wall cabinet (it has a corner piece included), plus a free standing version in case you wanted some sort of dropped ceiling or something, I dunno, I found it useful :P
A simple halogen ceiling spotlight;
A deco bowl of oranges (found in misc sculptures);
A craspedia (aka billy balls) plant in a vase (found in plants);
A 1920’s industrial style pendant light;
plus I included a separate horizontal and vertical version the wood pattern I made specifically for this kitchen.

Kitchen counters must be installed via the launcher as far as I know, but everything else can be installed as package if you so desire. I’ll leave conversion up to you!

If you encounter a problem where the counters name appears to be blank in the catalogue, or the corner or end pieces of the counters seem to disappear when connected to another counter, try restarting your game, and if that doesn’t fix it, try reinstalling the counters. There should be no issues with anything else!

I hope you have more fun playing with this kitchen than I had making it! Hahah :D
