First of all, if you’ve been visiting the site recently you may have noticed that a whole bunch of posts have been missing – like a whole years worth – it was some problem with my cache plugin that I hadn’t noticed until a little while ago, and have only now gotten the chance to figure it out, so everything should be business as usual now :) Apologies if you were inconvenienced!
Now, I know I haven’t updated in a really long time, the desire to mesh just hasn’t been there, but I have been working on a couple of new worlds, one of which is ALMOST done! Its quite large, we’re thinking Redcliffs large I think, and is CC & Store content free (except for my cornices… can’t resist!). The other is totally New Zealand themed, loosely based on a town down south in coastal Otago. I love the look of it, and I’m just now building a whole slew of New Zealandy houses for it. Fun!
I now have a Tumblr that I’ve been posting (heavily edited, haha) images of my progress on this new city world I’ve been making, so if you feel like following me on there go right ahead! I will try and post more regular images, I haven’t play-tested the world yet so when that happens, prepare for an onslaught of pics :P
Anyway, thanks for visiting, and keep on truckin’ or something!

Glad to see you are still active! When I saw the front page missing stuff, I thought it was the beginning of the end. Your pictures are beautiful, I can’t wait for the new worlds!
Talia says:
Love your worlds especially queenstown was wondering if your going to update it with the showtime venues please and thank you. God Bless You!
Sarah says:
Heyas, I don’t think I will be updating Queenstown for Showtime, but I definitely encourage you to edit it yourself if you can! I generally feel ok about updating worlds 1 or 2 EP’s at the most, otherwise the town becomes completely crowded and I lose interest :P
The new city world I am making will have most, hopefully all community lots to date :)
Talia says:
Thanks for getting back to me i can’t update worlds myself i’m horrible but i’ll try if any one else has done a good job please tell me. also i was wondering if your other worlds only use the Eps on and no sps because my computer can only handle so much sims game .
Jen says:
Glad to see that you’re still around and creating stuff, whether it’s meshes or whole worlds! I can’t wait to see what you come up with…totally going to stalk your Tumblr now. :)
Faith says:
I can’t wait for this world to be released, the pictures look awesome. I’ve been trying to find a good city for ages and I definitely love Queenstwon, so I’m sure I will love St. Claire too. Definitely looking forward to it.
shante says:
I’m really glad to hear from you. St Claire indeed looks amazing, definitely looking forward to seeing more pics! Take care! :-)
Purplepaws says:
Wow, TWO new worlds? Incredible! Needless to say, I can’t wait. :)
Crystal says:
Yay! I was wondering about the posts being gone. Glad you’re still here and glad to have some new worlds to look forward to using. I second the question about the SPs, are you using them, and which EPs are you using also. If you get a second just let us know. :3
I recently removed Ambitions because I didn’t play, and I don’t have any stuff packs except MS but I might have to go get the others if you’re going to use them a lot.
Wasp says:
You’re alive! Happy days. :D
Gardenof says:
I have to say I was worried that you’d left the community, as I’d noticed that your no longer involved with LS magazine. I can’t wait to see the two worlds, is one of them going to be classed as a city as there aren’t many in the comunity and to be honest your worlds are the only ones I have, as I always find others lacking in one way or another.
Vixxe says:
Oh thank godness you’re still around! I love all of your work and I can’t wait for your new worlds. Your stuff is without a doubt the best TS3 CC out there. Lots of luv!
Dysthe says:
I dream of your beautiful cities. The terrains are gorgeous, like no other. They are rich with color, like the best of autumn and late summer. They’re warm.
The cities are arranged well. I enjoy their respective divisions. I think that it’s very well-planned to have distinct areas of town. I like them so much — I wish some of the sections were larger. Plot size varies, which is nice, although I also get the hankering for larger lots. On architecture, your adeptness at mid-century design is prominent. There is a certain clarity of design, given light (no doubt) by your beautiful sets. Urban architecture is secondary skill, and modern architecture is tertiary. None are badly designed, and modern is getting better. From the photos, I suspect urban is improving at exponential rate. Interior varies (as one would suspect with as many houses as you’ve designed) but it is always well done. Your objects help immensely.
I wish you would use more CC. Those with powerful graphic cards will likely spend days decking every inch of your town with clutter. Your worlds are a study in the best possible arrangement of a limited catalog. This arrangement is supported more by your creations than EAs. Think of how beautiful it might be with the whole spectrum of the modding world! I, at least, wish to see your abilities with all tools on deck. I realize that a lack of CC is helpful to those with older machines. But, the worlds themselves are very costly to run for those with outdated hardware. I remember marveling at the Redcliffs world. I could see it but I would never be able to run it on my old PC. We’re a couple years on from the launch of the Sims game. Surely more of us would have updated our machines? Maybe there’s a balance of cc, expansions and base game?
I’m grateful for your work.
Jenny says:
I have been following you on Tumblr and I am soo excited for your new worlds!!!!
Crystal says:
@Dysthe However a lot of us are still using old machines. I for one can’t afford anything higher end or anything new at all. You could add in more CC yourself you know, I think Sarah allows editing of her worlds, and that’s better than adding CC for those with weaker machine to go take it all out, if they could get the world to load at all. ;)
Dysthe says:
@Crystal I understand that. I remember my old machine struggling to handle multiple saves of the same world (forget CC). My computer crashed often in a great plume of smoke. Obviously there is a need to curb mod use.
A massive free-for-all couldn’t be the primary upload. And if it were an upload, there’s the issue of work. Furnishing buildings with the care and skill that Sarah shows takes time. At best, she might be able to have an unfurnished world and a CC world, or an unfurnished world and an EA world. I’m not sure if either system is really more effective than the system she has set up. I suspect that CC users would want a great lot of her EA design untouched (or with very few changes).
However, expanding the catalog of things used very slightly will not kill the old machines. Some CC helps create the world, rather than adds to it. There’s a difference between supplying a long list of furnishings and requiring select CAW and urban item sets. Things like airports, tugboats, ships, canal dividers… have to be built around, rather than built in.
I am not sure of build items, but I do not think anyone will be greatly harmed by a lone spiral staircase here and there.
Sarah says:
I would *love* to use CC in my worlds, even just my CC! But the number of comments saying “does this have cc” “don’t use CC this time!” and everything in between is just something I can no longer deal with. I will never make everyone happy, so this time I’m just keeping it simple. Unfortunately, that results in a fairly bland world, with objects, especially things like paintings etc, being repeated just far too often.
It actually kindof bothers me when people cry “NO CC!” because they undoubtedly have gigabytes of CC in their game anyway, and most of the CC I would like to include they probably have in their game already.
For St Claire, my new cityish world, I have used my cornices – I refuse to have my sims live in a world without them, plus a few terrain paints which are needed so that if people want to paint in lawns or whathaveyou they don’t have to use the gaudy EA ones.
For a while, I considered not sharing this world at all – even to the point of starting a new world, almost abandoning this – but I was convinced to. To be honest, I’m not sure how much longer I’ll stay in the CC game, there are a lot of pretty vocal and ungrateful simmers in our community, and well, why should I continue when opposition is strong, especially to those of us who release our stuff for free, for the enjoyment of everyone. I don’t mean to be a drama llama, but sometimes all the comments and problems and everything just wears you down.
Crystal says:
I didn’t realize that the issue of using CC (or not) was that big a deal. I haven’t seen any of the ungrateful folk so I can’t speak on it directly, but people like me just want to be able to use a quality world, the likes of which EA don’t provide (or any of the Sims Community for that matter, and even if it isn’t packed with CC). And speaking personally; I do have lots of CC, a bunch of it is yours from using Queenstown and some of your lots. So I don’t mind so much the CC, the stuff packs are usually my main concern because I don’t typically buy them.
What I would say by way of a solution to your troubles? You do all the work, so do what you want. And I mean that in a very respectable way. You do all the meshing and modding and put the hours into making these creations so add CC if you want or don’t.
Of course it’s unfair (life is of course but…) to make a world when a lot of your fans don’t want extra content and the ones that do can just add in the pieces they want here and there, yeah it’s a little extra work on their part but then… their world comes out better right? If I may say I think it’s better to make a world without any custom content (or very little) so people with lower end computers can actually run it, and then list the here and there things for those who do want the custom content. Like you said, paintings and such that would make the world more dynamic, and the more dynamic the better.
If you add custom content, and people who don’t want it don’t download it, they now have weird out of place objects taking the place of where the custom content *would* be. And in my eyes I just think it’s easier to do it the way I mentioned earlier. But these are all my opinions, and my shot at trying to help you out, so I hope it does even if it’s a little.
If no one else does I appreciate your work, and I’m glad you went through with St. Claire– I know I’m going to like it even if it is bland. ;3
Dutchysim says:
Hey Sarah.
I am glad your are doing fine!!
I am sorry to hear how you feel about sims community sometimes, but I do understand.
I think you should use and do what you want, it is your world after all :)
If they don’t like it, don’t download it and build one yourself if you think you can do better. ( I can’t :P)
With or without CC, I always be a fan of yours and it would be a shame if you didn’t release it, but not the end of the world. ;-) People really make to much trouble over small things :P Oh, before I forget how can you call your worlds bland?! That is one description that really doesn’t fit. Its absolutely beautiful! I love the pictures at tumblr.
shante says:
II used to have loads of CC but it slowed down my game’s performance and therefore I’m now more careful with choosing CC. It doesn’t surprise me then that some people are scared of the worlds that contain CC because sometimes it really messes up the game. BUT when I see that someone so amazingly talented as you creates a new world, I somehow can’t imagine the world which contains (almost) no CC when there are so many wonderful options thanks to it. So I wouldn’t mind if you used at least small amount of CC that would add even more charm and beauty to St Claire and other future worlds. Anyway, CC is almost always optional so people who don’t want it, don’t have to download it and have that boring furniture that EA provided us with. :-P So please, don’t worry about CC that much because I’m sure that you can make good use of it. And I think that most people who download your worlds, download your CC as well, so maybe you could at least include your creations. Anyway, with or without CC, I’ll be extremely happy being able to check out the up-coming world. ;-)
Dysthe says:
Eh gads Sarah, if you left the CC game, there would be no decent mid-century furniture at all !
Martine says:
I can’t even begin to say how incredibly excited I am about this! I’ve been out of the simming community for a while myself, and haven’t even played for months. Just today I decided to do a quick re-install and just play around with a vanilla cc-free game for a little while – and while waiting for the progress bars to fill up I checked some of my favorite sims websites, and to my great delight saw this post! I completely understand the cc hassle by the way – and I definitely prefer a cc-free world (although I would always make an exception for your awesome cornices!).
In a few months time I will finally be done with all my exams and then I will have all the time in the world to play my favorite game again – yay :D
Do you have a rough idea when you’re going to release the city world? Dying to get my hands on it!
p.s. Drama llama is my new favorite phrase! <3
Raye says:
I was thinking maybe you could finish the world without the CC and have that on standby while you then deck it the way you would like with CC and then release both at the same time..Best of both worlds. Also…do you have a time-frame? Like, an estimate about when it may be ready?
Crystal says:
@Raye, I was thinking the same thing but I also thought maybe that was too much work because she would have to go back to all the lots with CC.
But yeah Sarah, we’re dying for a date of when to expect the release of the world, not to rush! Just wondering.
Sarah says:
I think I’ll just stick to CC free for this world. And by CC free I mean CC free except for my cornices and the terrain paints I need :P
I am into my 2nd round of testing the world right now, I think I have all the major wrinkles ironed out finally! I’ll get a couple of friends to test it next round and then I think it should be ready to go. Sooooo maybe a week or 2 depending on how busy I get IRL :)
Martine says:
Exciting! If you need another playtester I would gladly volunteer. Making Arkham taught me a LOT about CAW so I’m familiar with all the issues and playtesting and what not!
Sarah says:
Hey Martine! I’d really appreciate the help actually! If you could email me awesims.sarah@gmail.com I’ll send you a link to the file when its ready to test :)
Genevieve says:
Yay! This is perfect timing! I’ve been taking a TS3 break for about a year. The last world I used was Redcliffs. Once I have everything up and running again (which may take as long as whenever this will be released), I’ll definitely be using this new world.
I love all the work that you do, Sarah. I seriously get lost in your worlds. Without you, playing would be so bland.
Thank you so so sooooo much! *Hugs!*
simsid says:
You know after the patch issue I stopped playing the game. And when I realized you’re gone I didn’t even miss it. And now, with just one post you made me want to install it again.
EA should be fighting for you to get on board… They are so stupid.
<3
Dani says:
Exciting!!!!
God I hope its Oamaru…. just quietly! I love that place!!!
Love your work miss!
Julie says:
Hello there! I’ve been using your Queenstown world for what feels like forever. Earlier this week though my game crashed terribly on me and everything was lost, so now I’ve got to completely restart (note: always back up your games! :-() I was going to simply re-roll another Queenstown, but after seeing the photos of the new world you’re working on I’m just going to wait very patiently for you to release it.
Well, try and wait patiently. Is checking this website every day to see if you’ve released the world patient?
Regardless, I love your work, and I’m looking forward to playing around in your newest creation!
Crystal says:
@Julie, Same! I check every day for new comments revealing an update or some such, I check Sarah’s Tumblr too! Just so excited and for the picture… -Drooool.-
shante says:
@Julie @Crystal I can see I’m not alone! I’m so excited for St Claire, every day I check this page, tumblr and photobucket hoping to see some update even though I haven’t bought Showtime EP yet! XD
Elizabeth says:
Thank you for your beautiful worlds, Sarah.
I’m one of the lucky people who has a strong enough computer to handle a sizeable chunk of CC but I completely understand your decision to keep it minimal – it’ll give an opportunity for my architect sims to go and put your lovely furniture back into places.
I can barely wait to get my hands on the new worlds so if you do require an extra playtester I’ll gladly volunteer!
gelfling says:
I am very glad to see that you are still around, Sarah. I thoroughly enjoy your work and I do hope that you continue to create custom content and worlds for this game. I am happy to download your worlds however they come – the only hard part is choosing which one to play first. :)
Crystal says:
@shante, Nope not alone at all! And it’s officially been two weeks since Sarah said it would be around a week or two, so we can expect it soon. -Swoooon.-
Sarah says:
Sorry guys! I’m still waiting for testers reports but I’m making great progress :)
Crystal says:
That’s great Sarah, keep us updated. Your page is the only reason I visit Tumblr. <3
shante says:
Great to hear that! But maybe you could share some bird’s-eye photo(s) of St Claire to whet our appetite? :-D
Cecilia says:
I just can’t wait for st Claire! :D I am so freaking excited and so happy that you share your amazing worlds with the rest of us!! :D Well, I’m off to F5 your tumblr forever now ;)
shante says:
Yay, thanks for the new pics, Sarah! The world looks incredible, can’t wait to play it! Cheers! xx
Camilla says:
I had a look at your tumblr pictures, and the new world you are creating is stunning! Right now I’m playing Queenstown (added a subway station by the grocery/bookstore for quicker transports) and it is my favourite world ever. So beautiful, in every single detail. Really looking forward to playing your new world when it is done. :)
Raye says:
I was wondering if there will be any tombs in this world?
Crystal says:
@Raye’s Question: Ooh, good one, I’d like to know too.
Megan says:
Oh, wow! I am SO excited for this new world! I really didn’t think a Sims world could get any better than Queenstown, but St. Claire looks incredible – just the right mix of city, suburbs and country (if I’m imagining things right based on the road map). It’s actually made me a little jaded about my game now and has made me feel silly putting any effort into building anything when I know I’m just going to move to this one immediately!
As far as you feeling unappreciated, please don’t! I know that there are a lot of fussy, mean-spirited people in this community, but there are also so many who greatly value the work that you do and who are beyond grateful for the obvious time and effort that you put into your creations. But it shouldn’t be up to anyone but you what you choose to create – if they can’t handle the CC, it’s not your problem; if you don’t want to use CC, don’t! We should all just be thankful that someone as talented as you is choosing to create and share these things with us, and handle any issues we might have with it on our own.
Also, not to be a bother, but, do you have a new idea of when the world will be released? (Ahhh!!! I’m so excited!) I’d be happy to test it, if you still need anyone!
Thanks again for your amazing work!
Sarah says:
SOrry no there are no tombs, mostly because I don’t play that aspect of the game and have no idea what I’m doing in that regard. But you should definitely go right ahead and make your own if you are that way inclined! I am totally for people customising it to their desires :)
Crystal says:
@Megan, She say earlier that she was waiting on reports from her testers, so I think that means soon if that helps you any.
@Those Curious About Tombs: Also now that tombs have been mentioned I’m thinking about trying to make one or two in some of the lots included in ST. Claire, if I do some would anyone be interested in downloading the revisions (is that alright to do Sarah?)? I’d make them for myself but I’d already know all the surprises so it’d be “Meh”.
Ashley says:
Thanks sooo much for making a new world. I am obsessed with everything you create =]
I havent played The Sims for a long time because its easy to lose interest when you cant find a good world. St. Claire is the reason I am getting really excited again!! I am starting to create all my families so that when your world comes I’ll be ready! I really missed the experience of playing the Sims, but you just cant love it unless theres a good reason to bring back all the exictment. And your world is it!!
Sarah says:
thats absolutely fine, Crystal :)
Shirley says:
Wow, that sunset looks stunning! I love when the city lights pop on. This world is going to be amazeballs.. :)
Crystal says:
@Shirley -Dies from “Amazeballs”.- ROLF.
Lisfyfre says:
Sarah!! Glad you’re doing well and still creating. I haven’t been playing myself because that thing called RL keeps keeping me away from the game. I’ll volunteer to test if you need testers. I don’t have Pets and Showtime though so if you created a world up to Generations, I’m your girl :)
Raye says:
These tumbler photos are making me more and more anxious!!! Looks like an amazing place for storytelling, Can’t wait for the release!!
catvonpaxton says:
Sarah honey!
God we didnt talk in ages and now i see why….You’ve been busy! It looks absolutly stunning… I wouldnt mind testing as well, as i really cant wait your new world is out and i am bored out of my mind with beeing preggers…
Kisses sweety!
Cat
Raye says:
One last question, sorry…..will this world be pre-populated? If not, i’d like to get started on creating my own population for St. Claire. Could you please tell how many residential lots there are?
Kelly says:
Hello can someone explain me what CC is? Please?
Crystal says:
@Kelly
CC is Sims content made by fans of the Sims 3 and not EA. :3 For example: The owner of this website, Sarah, makes chairs, tables, decor, ETC. And it’s all considered custom content (CC).
Elizabeth says:
Any new thoughts on when it’ll be done? I’m so excited!
Lily says:
Hi there… Wasn’t sure where to put this so i’ll just go ahead here :P
I’m extremely picky with Sims custom content (there’s alotta crap out there as we all know) so most of the time I end up deleting content as soon as I’ve downloaded it! Other than there being a lot of badly made content, there is also a lot of content in bad taste… But this website is fabulous :D I have everything! I love the style of furniture – a lot of it actually reminds me of the furniture I have in my own house…. I mean the danish wooden style… LOVE IT.
Please keep it up :) SOO thankful it’s free… And I have to say that your creations are far superior to any that I’ve gotten from a pay website. Tried making some designs myself but just got too complicated! Can’t seem to get my head around it… Plus I seem to spend more time fixing my Sims game than actually playing it :P
Thank you so much and please keep the content coming!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
Crystal says:
I quote Elizabeth.
Ashley says:
I agree!!!!! I keep checking your blog every single day! :)
Just waiting for this amazing world!!!!
Lou says:
It shouldn’t be too much longer I reckon’. From the work on tumbler, it looks pretty much done already. Anything else might be routing issues or last round of detailing before upload. I think it should be ready between now and i’d say a week tops.
Crystal says:
@Lou: I keep telling myself that but the weeks keep stretching to weeks, weeks and more weeks and it’s hard to be patient. D:
Kelly says:
@Crystal
Hey, thanks! but now, how can you download it?! because sometimes I download houses and then they are emty! :{
(I’m from Holland, sorry for the bad english)
Thanks!
Fernanda says:
Hi! First of all I apologize for my english :p it’s not my fisrt language, and I’m still learning n.n
I wanna say that I absolutely loooove your worlds, they’re so peaceful and beautiful, and most important (at least for me) they aren’t like those tiny islands where you can’t put anyrhing, but still are towns where you don’t feel small xD.
I downloaded Queenstown a few months ago, and I really loved it. But recently I have problems with my game, so I unistalled all my downloads :c. Happily this work, but I want Queenstown back. I came to download it again but I can open the page where the link is. And I downloaded the Queenstown Pets Edition and I installed it, but it seems like it doesn’t work without the world base, am I right?
Hope you can help me and thank you for your awesome work!
