The Sims 3 Pets patch has pretty much borked a lot of CC, so until a solution is found and the files fixed please refrain from downloading any objects. I’ll let ya know when things are updated.
Edit, I see that TSR have released a batch fixing tool, and it is with limitations at this stage so I am going to hold off “fixing” things for a little while to see what happens. Of course you have the choice to fix any of my stuff that you have in your game already! No need to redownload uneccessarily :)
I have still not decided how I am going to handle my old downloads, because one of the limitations of the tool is that it creates files that don’t work on unpatched games and I know a looot of people (for whatever reason) don’t patch their games..
If you have suggestions I’m happy to hear them :)

Does this mean I’ll have to re-install all CC? :\ I’ll keep the patch away for a while.

A fix has been found that can be done for each file but I imagine it to be rather tedious. MTS has a tutorial up though. I know some creators have already began the process.
Sarah says:
Yes I am aware of that, but I am waiting for a more tested option, preferably a batch fixer, and I hear TSR has one in the works. I need something that works with Sims3Pack which is what I use.
mari says:
Hey are you going to be adding new stuff to your world for pets? :)
dinosaur says:
Wait, can’t you just upload new versions of the files which are fixed for the patch, and keep the old un-patched files up for download as well?
Or am I just missing something here.
Sarah says:
Dinosaur, I could, in theory yes. But to be honest, I would rather not have multiple copies of files, because what happens if we get a new EP that changes things again and I have to put a THIRD copy of files up?
I want to make it as easy as possible for people to download, so I’m wondering whether its best to keep the old downloads as they are and people can fix them themselves if they need to. Future downloads will require a fully patched game anyway, so maybe I should be consistent and remove all my old downloads *UGH HEADACHE FORMING lol* and replace them with fixed versions.
Haven’t decided. I can see this happening again when/if we get a weather EP…
dinosaur says:
Ahh I see how that would be a problem if a new EP came out.
You could always tackle that problem when/if a new EP was announced though?
IDK, I’m just modding illiterate and have no idea how to “fix” files for new EPs. But at the same time I think from your side, it would just be simpler if you just decided to keep going forward and not update your old files constantly, because then as you said you would have to go through the whole process for every EP…which could get rather lengthy as you keep creating new content so often.
Maybe if someone DOES fix your items though you could put up a mirror for others to download?
Zhaana says:
Hi Sarah ! ;)
I suggest you to fix all your downloads and get rid of old ones, I’m afraid it’s the easier way.
As for your files I converted them without problem except the beds, I think that you know you’ll have to fix them for us as they don’t get fixed by the rigfix tool unfortunately. :p
Sarah says:
Zhaana have you tried the beds with the TSR tool?
I also heard that beds are a problem with the game itself but I’m not sure about it.
Tranced says:
Hi Sarah
Zhaana is right…..
And the RigFix tool is the TSR tool. At the moment, and probably for a long while, the newly updated TSR Workshop is the only way to fix beds. I don’t think the process is as complicate as making the bed all over again, but it’s probably more than a typical user could handle. Hope this helps….. And Thank you for all your hard work. It is so appreciated.
deestar says:
Granthes tool is fixing beds at least partially, animations appear to be fixed for one side of the bed but not the other something I am sure he will figure out over the next week or so. His fix still has the tubs issue where cats go to play in the tub and disappear but so does the TSR tool. It does now fix chair, table, desk, dresser, door, car, sink, and shower animations and slots though
Since he has come the farthest so far in fully fixing bed animations and he has managed to fix most of the other animation issues it might be a better option for you since you only have the one bathroom set and it only has a shower. I have updated all of your files other than beds and if you want to just post one massive file with updated content for patched/Pets’d people to use I can send you a link when I get back from vacation in about a week

Sarah, I too haven’t “fixed” anything yet. I’m waiting for the dust to settle before I get the patch and the fix and Generations. I will not be getting Pets but I’m pretty sure I will be getting the next EP after Pets. I’m going to wait until I get Generations (sometime before year end hopefully) before I do the patch and fix. I’ll probably do one of 2 things – install, patch and fix or uninstall and reinstall completely.
I get your concern about having several copies of files and all I can say is go ahead and fix them all because having several copies of files for certain iterations of the game will get out of control in no time. I’ll download all your files all over again if needs be. Your CC is needed in my game and can’t live without it :) Good luck with whatever you decide and happy simming :)

As a mac user, I’d appreciate if creators would upload corrected versions of their new and old content, because from what I’ve seen there isn’t a way for mac users to fix their CC easily (and if there is a way, please share it!) because the TSR batch fixer and Granthes’ tool don’t work for OSX.

Hi!
I used the TSR fixing tool and everything is run fine except for the beds (that luckly I don’t have much installed). I have tons of cc (more sufaces, sofas , chairs and decor itens) that I can’t imagine playing without. So the TSR tool for me was very very useful.
And some creators are updating the files with the new patch and keep the old ones but most of then is replacing the files. Sarah, I think that you can leave the old ones for a while just in this transition moment. :)
LA0811 says:
It’s unlikely that anyone would buy base game and do no patching at this point, seeing as there are so many EPs and Stuff packs that require patches to even work. And anyone who is playing unpatched games probably already has all your stuff (because it’s the best CC out there), so hopefully no need to keep old versions around. Embrace the future! And the future is the rig update.
How is testing going on Queenstown since cc craziness transpired? I just bought a powerful enough computer to actually play large worlds effectively and I really want to DL and play Queenstown.
Good luck and keep making great content. FInding you site has honestly changed my appreciation of the game. I’m a MCM design nerd and your creations allow me to totally geek out. Thanks!
Sarah says:
Queenstown testing is going well, and I am pretty much done but I am having trouble exporting the world! So as soon as that is fixed there’ll be a pets release :) I am playing it right now and its pretty great, haha. Nice to have somewhere a little more rural, away from the main town. Queenstown isn’t a large world, so I have found that even on my not so awesome laptop it runs very well, but then again I don’t have very much CC to weigh down my game hehe.
After queenstown is out of the way I can focus on reupping my old CC to be pets compatible.
Dutchysim says:
Can’t wait for your pets update Sarah! I saw the pictures. It looks fantastic. I was working on making Queenstown the new town for my story, but I think I am going to wait now until I have your new one!
I hope you and your family are doing fine :)
Alx says:
Is Redcliffs going to be updated for Pets too or just Queenstown?
Sarah says:
Just Queenstown :)
Katie says:
Hi. Do you know when the patch will be available and if it is now, where I could get it? I don’t know much about patches, but my game certainly needs one
Tammy says:
Hi! first off – I LOVE ST CLAIRE. I live in FL but grew up in NYC and your world is such a reminder of Manhatten a little bit. I love it.. Me and Charlie play it everyday together. CHarlie reported som glitches to ya earlier. Im here to report ONE also. Im not sure if you planned it this way but there are alot of JunkYard spawners in weird places. Like historic area? Were you have alot of Groceries and Book stores and Spa’s the rabbit holes. I notice when i was doing a little decorating that there were junk spawners in the middle of the rabbit hole builings. I deleated it, but thought you might wanna know. and behind one of the Brownstones near the gaarbage dump there is a junkyard spawner just plopping down little tables everywhere. BUt I cant get to that spot because it is not a lot. ok thats it. :-)
Sarah says:
the junkyard spawners are intentionally placed. I put them in places I figured vagrants would dump their old junk :P
