Modern Designer Kitchen for The Sims 3

Hey guys, hope life’s treating you well!

I know I said I’d never make a kitchen again because it really is a complete nightmare, but I saw a pic of one I really liked, and it was all over. So here we are :P

Its not a huge or particularly complete set (I didn’t bother with appliances, there are plenty of usable EA ones!) but it includes:

Kitchen counter;
Kitchen island counter;
Fridge surround (specifically made for my favourite fridge – the late night one, found in the wall cabinets section);
Wall cabinet;
Full wall cabinet;
A vertically shiftable wall mounted credenza (found in display surfaces);
A soffit that works as a wall cabinet (it has a corner piece included), plus a free standing version in case you wanted some sort of dropped ceiling or something, I dunno, I found it useful :P
A simple halogen ceiling spotlight;
A deco bowl of oranges (found in misc sculptures);
A craspedia (aka billy balls) plant in a vase (found in plants);
A 1920’s industrial style pendant light;
plus I included a separate horizontal and vertical version the wood pattern I made specifically for this kitchen.

Kitchen counters must be installed via the launcher as far as I know, but everything else can be installed as package if you so desire. I’ll leave conversion up to you!

If you encounter a problem where the counters name appears to be blank in the catalogue, or the corner or end pieces of the counters seem to disappear when connected to another counter, try restarting your game, and if that doesn’t fix it, try reinstalling the counters. There should be no issues with anything else!

I hope you have more fun playing with this kitchen than I had making it! Hahah :D

Thanks so much! This is a gorgeous set, and I love the wood pattern. But I can’t help wishing you would make some appliances after all. We need some new, beautiful retro appliances; there can never be too many of those. And, while there are a number of fridges and stoves to choose from, more dishwashers and trash compactors would certainly be welcome.

I do feel guilty asking for more, though, when you’ve already given us so much! Feel free to ignore me.

Great kitchen! It certainly calls for a nice, big room to really show and is perfect for what we in Denmark through the 1990´ies called a “dialoguekitchen”. During the economical upturn in that period everybody who could get near their bank man, and that was practically everybody, got huge bank loans, and installed fantastic kitchens. Sometimes, I guess, more for show off than for actually cooking purposes, actually. And today, 10 years after, the are forced to sell their houses, because the loans are finally mature to be payed back, and the poor kitcheneers kind of forgot to count on that little detail :-) I´m glad to say, that I was content to wait back then, and God knows how many new, fantastic sims kitchens I have build, thanks to you, Sarah, among a few other.
This one will certainly become a favorite just like your previous one, Geneva, was it!?

One of the reasons I love your creations is how I can always pick out something from one of my fave interior design blogs in each set. This time I’m loving the “fauxdenza” that reminds me of the one over at Door Sixteen (and I think The Brick House recently did one, too?). Oh! And wasn”t the billy ball plant mentioned in a recent Brick House post, too? Haha, soon I’m going to be able to replicate my favorite bloggers’ houses perfectly :)

I am generally happy for my objects to be used for whatever, its just that since TSR attacked my site and have continuously tried to ruin the free CC community at large, I’m sure you can understand my disdain ;)

Hi Sarah, I’m so sorry to hear what you’ve gone through. I’m new to the politics of custom content. But I can assure you this! If I ever use your objects on TSR, they will forever be free. Only featured artists have CC that costs to download. IF I ever became a featured artist part of the deal would be for them to keep any lots of mines using outside CC for FREE. I can’t understand why they would attack you, though. You’re so talented and most of the artists on TSR offer free content. Unless they plan on making all content submitted to be sold for a price, at which time I would leave promptly. Thanks for the reply:)

I just wanted to say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SET and the drop leaf table and pendant light lmao! I love your work. So realistic and enjoyable and a pleasure to look at in game. I have tried downloading it several times since the PETS but no objects can be placed on the counters. This makes me so sad. My question is, is the set updated for PETS? If so, tell me why your objects are not being placed on the counters?

I cannot function as a Sim without this kitchen, so please, please, pleeeeassse forgive my ignorance and naivete if this has already been answered.

Blown away with this kitchen set. Looks absolutely amazing, and I can’t thank you enough for the pantry you included – took me ages to find a kitchen set with a pantry. Your work is brilliant.
I encountered a problem though with the counters and the islands – I can’t put anything on top. Eg. I tried putting a microwave on top of a counter and on top of an island and it didn’t work.
Any suggestions?

I just downloaded this set.. GORGEOUS, as usual.. :D But I’m having a little problem with the islands.. Whenever they merge with one another, the patterns on them get messed up.. as you can see here:
