First I’d like to say thank you to everyone who left lovely comments on my last entry about our recent earthquake. My boyfriend Matt and I appreciate all your well wishes, and I wanted to let you know that we are all good, and life is slowly returning to normal :)
Today I have a new world for you! It is loosely based on a town here in New Zealand, Queenstown, in the southern part of the South Island. It is a wonderful place to visit if you ever get a chance :)
Please read and understand all information below about the world before installing, and especially before commenting about any issues you encounter as it may have already been covered and a solution provided.
The world requires all EP’s up to Late Night, and I have used a couple of decorative things from the Fast Lane Stuff Pack – but these items are purely decorative so the Stuff Pack is not necessarily a requirement.
I have tried to keep it as low CC as possible – I have used a few pieces of my own CC, namely a couple of wallpapers, patterns and my cornices and I have used a few items from the EA store, which I never know whether that is really counted as CC or not, some people say it is, some people don’t.
Regardless, here is a list of items needed for the world to appear as it does in the pictures below:
EA Sims 3 Store Content – Not included in world file, please download
Hacienda Luxury Set
Window
Door
Curtain
Regal Living:
Window
Window
Curtain
Bahaus:
Window
Window
Garage Door
Misc items:
Cupcake deco
Wall flower
Dramatic Palm
Croon to me Softly Mic Stand
Non-EA Custom Content – Included in world file
Awesims Decorative Masonry wallpapers x 3 (Set seen here)
Awesims Cornices x 2 & cornice end post (Seen here)
2 x Awesims woodgrain patterns
Non-EA Custom Content – Not Included in world file, please download
Awesims Modular Fireplace
Custom Rabbit hole doors – in particular: City Hall, Spa, Stadium, Military base.
Now thats not too massive a list is it? It’s super low CC! The world file has been checked and only includes the CC I have listed above in the “Included in world” section. Otherwise its all EA!
I used custom rabbit hole doors so that the facilities your sims need fit into the style of the town. I’ve used rabbit hole doors for the stadium, the city hall, military base, a subway station and a spa at the luxurious Elysian Baths community pool.
The town is fully functional, lets go through what your sims will have to do in Queenstown!
The hood sports 8 bars & clubs, ranging from the divey-est basement watering hole called the Concrete Club, to the fancy schmanciest exclusive lounge on the lakefront called Monument. There is plenty of space for running, hiking, fishing, spending some time in the mountains, or having a romantic picnic at the botanic gardens or any one of the numerous parks & gardens in the neighbourhood.
Things to note & known issues:
When you first load the neighbourhood, any fog emitters placed in the lots default to fog, and while this looks hilarious, it is a known bug which is fixed by saving your game, exiting to the main menu and then re-entering your save. An annoyance, yes, but a fairly minor one I think.
Another I suppose fairly major issue I have encountered in testing (though not in my game, but in my beta testers games), was that the custom rabbit hole doors that are used sometimes don’t show up in the lots. I can’t seem to figure out why this is happening, but the solution is to simply put the rabbit hole door in yourself if it is missing. I can only imagine it is becuase the doors have been updated or something. I apologise for this inconvenience. The door positions for replacing the doors if you’re missing them should be fairly self evident.
The doors should be in the following lots – check the map in the picture preview for lot locations:
• Queenstown Military Depot (Military Base)
• City Hall
• Mountain View Grounds (in basement next to toilet block) (Stadium).
• Elysian Baths Community Pool (Spa)
• Stone Corner Subway Station (Subway)
If you are having trouble placing the doors, if for example the game won’t let you place the doors because you “can’t place objects outside your unit” etc, then you will need to enable testing cheats – testingcheatsenabled true – then in the cheat console again, type restrictbuildbuyinbuildings on, and then you should be able to place everything you need to. Make sure you disable the cheats after you have finished. The reason these cheats need to be entered is because of the level skip and hidden room markers that are used on the lots.
Fire Station not allowing fire fighter profession?
To remedy this, place the “Panic Rouser Fire Alarm” found in the community objects section in build mode. Stupid-ass me forgot to put it in there, and the lot needs it to function properly. This should enable the firefighter profession, my bad!
You have the option of starting with an empty world, including all the houses, but they’ll be empty. OR you can download the optional save game, which includes 6 families living in some houses. Lets meet them! (please note that I haven’t edited any sim relationships or anything, they have distinct personalities and lifetime wishes etc, but relationship wise they are all fresh as driven snow)
Household: Superstar Hopefuls

This is the household I have been beta testing with, and what a bunch they are! They’re all aspiring superstars, one as an athlete, one as a journalist, one as an actress and one wants to be a rockstar!
Household: The Berry Family

Matthew Berry was a film executive and has amassed a fortune! He now lives with his son and his wife and 2 twin children.
Household: Cobbleton

Maria Cobbleton lives with her roommate Catherine, they are prim, proper girls, but I’m sure ones gonna go off the rails one of these days…
Household: Opposites Attack!

Clark & Penny are aspiring musicians, and often knock heads with their stylish and business savvy roomie Gabrielle.
Household: Up to No Good!

This wiley bunch are a bunch of criminals, aspiring thieves, just really nasty people. But we all know how fun they are to play :)
Household: Mixed Bag

This group of roomies are a real mixed bag – a big fat party dude, a cute nerd, a sporty spice wannabe, the good girl and the aspiring detective!
And there you have it. I have found even just having these few households in the neighbourhood makes the place feel so much less desolate and lonely! A few sims wandering about makes it seem more interesting. Because there are plenty of houses in the hood (And they are all furnished), new families will automatically move in, as will mixologists, paparazzi and vampires. So before you know it your new town will be a-buzz with sims of all kinds! How exciting!
Installation
To install the world, simply extract the file from the rar, double click the Sims3Pack file to install it via the launcher. Install any cc you might need following the links above. To install the save game, all you have to do is extract the folder from the rar, and copy that folder to you My Documents > Electronic arts > The Sims 3 > Saves folder. Then load up the game and save and play!
Please let me know if there are any major issues that you can’t fix yourself :) Most of all, enjoy Queenstown!
Oh gosh! I totally forgot to thank all the kind folks who tested my world for me and who helped with decorating lots etc, I appreciate it so much, thank you!

Ooh, how exciting! I’m looking forward to installing this tonight and having a look around. I thought Redcliffs was gorgeous but it was a little much for my crappy computer to handle, so I’m hoping this one will work OK. *crosses fingers*

Hi! I’m so glad to see that everything’s find with you and your family and friends! I was checking your blog every day, hoping that we’ll hear from you. And what a great news you brought! Qeenstown looks really good, but I’ve already fallen in love with Redcliffs (or it’s addiction already, not sure) and don’t want to change it. ;-) Anyway, I want to thank you for your hard work that is really appreciated!
Erica says:
Oh, this is perfect! Just what I’ve been looking for. Thank you.
LemonJelly says:
Wow Sarah this looks great! I have been waiting oh so patiently for it’s release. Putting it in my game right now!

This look absolutely amazing but I only have Late Night Installed :( do you think you can make the world only late night compatible? or place the lots for download here on the site??
Syn says:
I love you! THANK YOU for this awesome world!
LemonJelly says:
Just want to add to my previous comment now I have the world in game. It looks amazing and is so detailed. I can’t wait to start exploring.
I had to add the stadium rabbit hole door as well as the city hall and military one. No big deal just wanted you to know :) xx
Sarah says:
Heya LJ, thanks for letting me know, this whole rabbithole thing is so puzzling, lol.
Thanks for your comments dudes! Enjoy Queenstown :)
Erica says:
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that the Fire Station isn’t coming up as a profession building. I tried bulldozing it and setting it back down but it still doesn’t show up as a profession. IDK if it’s just me having this issue, but I haven’t had this problem before.
Sarah says:
I’ll look into it, thanks Erica!
Hannah says:
Hey, I love this world, would it be okay if I showcase it in a story for VSims magazine?
Dutchysim says:
Oh, wow! Looks great Sarah, Downloading as we speak. I love all the houses. Can’t wait to see it ingame.
Sarah says:
Hey Hanna, of course, be my guest :)
Elizabeth says:
I installed all the cc that you said is required but got a missing objects on start up.. and I can’t find the stadium..there is one right? where can I find it so I can get my sim a job lol
Sarah says:
Are you sure you installed the doors? The stadium, as indicated on the map, is in Mtn View Gardens, next to the Art Gallery & chinese garden.
Elizabeth says:
yes, I installed alot of doors.. version 1 and 2.. you didn’t say which ones
Elizabeth says:
19 doors are installed
ami says:
yea which version should i download?
Sarah says:
Hi Erica, it looks like I forgot to put in the fire alarm, lol! So all you need to do is place one in the lot and the firefighter options should return. If not, let me know and I’ll investigate further. I have updated the main post and I will continue to test :) Thanks for letting me know!
Sarah says:
As far as I can tell, there is only one version.
Jynx_LateNightRabbitHoles_R&C1.zip
Jynx_BaseGameRabbitHole_R&C2.zip
You don’t need to download the rugs.
And as I also mentioned in the instructions, if the doors are not there, you may have to place it yourself. The stadium has a place for the door in the basement. If you do need to place a door, make sure the arrows on the floor face outwards.
Elizabeth says:
those are the ones that I have and installed them all.. just to be sure.. and the problem isn’t the doors I just can’t find the stadium…lol
Sarah says:
check the map, or go into map view in game, Elizabeth :) The stadium icon should show up, its the open field lot between the chinese garden and the military building, it has a toilet block, some trampolines and some games on there.
Elizabeth says:
I found the Chinese garden but there’s no stadium there
Speechless says:
Elisabeth I think Sarah means the lot called Mountain View Grounds opposite the hospital ;)
Elizabeth says:
yes, I looked there and don’t see it..
Sarah says:

http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/gg318/i_saw_drones/Awesims/?action=view¤t=Screenshot-890.jpg
Go down the stairs next to the toilet block, there is where the stadium rabbit hole door should be. If it is not there, you will need to place it yourself, as mentioned in the post above.
Elizabeth says:
I do see that building but had no way of knowing that is the stadium. I was looking for the one’s like in sunset valley.. thanks lol no wonder I couldn’t find it.. from what I have seen so far it looks really nice.. thank you for sharing it…
Karen says:
Absolutely stunning. There is just so much creativity here its hard to say what is the most impressive. But I am partial to building exteriors and you are suburb. Terrain detailing is jaw-dropping. The monument turned into a nightclub, what can I say? Thanks so much!
[I made a small world and I had the same problem with custom rabbitholes. CAW itself didn't save them when it saved the lots. The icon for the building won't show up without the rabbithole, so you might want to just add a list in your oriiginal post about which lot name name goes with the 3 missing doors (City Hall, Stadium and Military). ]
Karen says:
Oops, supurb, not suburb — you are way cooler than a suburb :)
Erica says:
LOL! What a simple answer to the Fire Station “issue.” I didn’t think to look for a fire alarm. Thanks for your quick reply. I’m really loving this world so far. Everything is so perfectly placed and designed.
Elizabeth says:
thank you for the pic.. it was missing the door and I installed it now shows up.. where can I find the alarm for the fire station so I can install that? and it is a very beautiful world..
Kayla says:
Also, you know what would make this perfect – Is fergburger lol
Sarah says:
Lol Erica, I know, I feel like a right idiot for forgetting it, hahah!
Sarah says:
The alarm is in the community objects section in the build mode.
B says:
Your ultimate fangurl here, dancing in my desk chair. I am anxiously awaiting my new gameplay in this world, downloading now. Glad to see everything is okay over there for you and really will enjoy your Aussie styled world. Thank you so much for sharing.
vayleen says:
I love it! As soon as I have time, I’m going to download this. I loved Queenstown when I was in New Zealand last year. It’s such a beautiful town, and I can’t wait to see how your Queenstown is similar. Hopefully I won’t have a rabbit hole issue, because I don’t know the first thing about fixing any kind of world issue. >.>
jenny says:
I feel like a complete idiot for asking this but i cannot seem to locate the grocery or market to buy food? *blushes*………… other than that i adore this world already!!!
Sarah says:
Hi Jenny, unless its somehow disappeared, it should be on the same lot as the Theatre building :) Opposite the bookshops.
Blondemeduse says:
Downloaded, but when I go to gameplay, the homes etc are just blue shapes. The town is not playable. Please help!
Sarah says:
Hi Blondemeduse, can you please take a picture of what you mean? I’ve not heard of this issue before.
jenny says:
Ahhh..I think i found it……… The Bistro and day spa? haha.. i think I was expecting that to be something else… nevermind me. thanks!
Sarah says:
There is a bistro and spa on one lot, but there’s also a grocery store on the theatre lot :)
Nicole says:
This is so stunning! I loved Redcliffs (also b/c name reminded me do dragon age: origins lol) but I believe this is even better! I am going to move my legacy family here – pronto! Thank you so much for all this hard work & every tiny little detail I have found & love so much in this neighborhood! I can’t wait to spend more time than I already have in it to discover every little thing.
Also thank you for the save file! I love the characters you made & look forward to seeing them wondering around & getting into trouble :)
Quick question though: I noticed in one comment about the rabbit hole doors you said ‘if they do /not/ appear’ we need to replace, but if they appear then are we okay? Sorry to pester with this, but I was going to go around replacing doors but when I got to city hall it wouldn’t let me remove the front door (totally n00b at rabbit holes – they are so confuzzling!) – so I just wanted to double check that everything will work correctly without me replacing or if I need to find a way to do this.
Thank you again so so much for all this, people like you are who make this game so fun to play!
Sarah says:
Hey Nicole :)
If the doors don’t appear and you do need to replace them, and if you can’t delete anything in, for example, the city hall lot, there’s a couple things you need to do to make it happen. It’s not too difficult I promise :)
1: go into the lot, bring up the cheat console and type in testingcheatsenabled true
2: in the cheat console again type restrictbuildbuyinbuildings off, and that should allow you to build and buy anywhere on the lot.
3: replace or place the door with the city hall rabbithole door, found in the “Community objects” section of build mode. The placement for it is on the 2nd floor, as you go up the stairs, to the left there’ll be an empty room with no door on it, it goes right there :) you can recolour it to match the other doors of the building if you want or just leave it as is.
Once you’ve done all your editing, turn the restrictbuildbuyinbuildings cheat off (by typing ON instead of OFF, haha), then exit the lot. Thats it! I’m sorry you have to do this, I would have prefered the doors stuck to the world, but I don’t think there’s anything I can do about it. Let me know if you have any more problems with it and I’ll do my best to help :)
jenny says:
I found the market Sarah, i went into map view and found it right away…thanks!
LemonJelly says:
I didn’t have to type the cheat “restrictbuildbuyinbuildings”. I could just place the door.
Thanks for the tip about making sure the door arrows face outwards. I haven’t used the doors before so that was good to know.
The world is fab Sarah, I cannot stop swooning at every new detail I discover.
winniejun says:
this is really a amazing wrold, thank you for your hard work so much~
JayC says:
Thanks for this world I’ve been patiently waiting for it ever since Speechless blogged about it!
Just wondering if there was anyway you could upload this in a non sims3pack file?
My launcher refuses to work or be fixed for that matter and I’m not sure what program to use to get this into my game any help from anyone would be great!
Thx again
JayC
Cerridwen says:
Wow, this is amazing. Looking at all the pictures, something about this town really calls to me. I’ve not as yet downloaded a custom town even though there are many out there, but I do believe this will be my first. I really, really love the arcitecture, and the way the whole town “feels”. You’ve really outdone yourselft this time. And thank you for keeping CC to a minimum, I know that’s gotta be hard for you! :)
SIMphomaniac says:
You have made a gorgeous world. Thank you very much. Now take a bow. You deserve it for all the hard work that had to go into making this world:)
Fashionista says:
I love this world Sarah! <3 I'm so sorry I never decorated that apartment, I got caught up in so many other things, I hope that's OK :S
Either way, I love this worl!
Jerry says:
Beautiful world – thank you for sharing and doing such a massive amount of work for our benefit.
I tried downloading the Save Game file and it said something to the effect of the game had been saved with expansions I no longer had. I thought that was odd since I have all of them installed. I downloaded the Sim3 Pack and it loaded just fine. I’m not sure what the difference is but at least one loaded. lol!
The Sims you listed above as suggested residence in your world – where can they be downloaded at? Can you post a link?
Thanks again!
Sarah says:
lol its totally fine portia! i completely understand, and in actual fact i was nervous about doing it as I didn’t want to hurt your feelings or anything! xx
Sarah says:
Hi Jerry, the sims that I have pictured above actually come included with the save game :/ I’m not sure why you would get that error with the save game if you have all EP’s installed! perhaps remove the save, delete your caches ad retry adding the save? Its all I can think of.
Sailfindragon says:
Looking forward to playing this. Awesome as always. Huggles too! lol
Amarantha says:
Hi! I love your new town. It;s absolutely gorgeous! I have a question though, does this wordl have any 60×60 lots?
Amanda says:
Love this world, especially because it is nice and compact, I’m not a big fan of huge worlds. I do just have a bit of a request for future worlds if you don’t mind. I’m not a great builder at all, so I usually plop down downloaded houses to fill in empty lots (yours are great). I just have a bit of a problem since you include a lot of non standard size lots and I can never get mine to fit quite right. Could you include more standard sizes (20×30, 30×30, 30×40 etc…) in the next world you do?
Fashionista says:
Oh it’s OK Sarah =) I just checked out the lakeside apartments, and it looks fantastic! Probably a whole lot better than I could do with just EA stuff, and you didn’t hurt my feelings at all! :) xx
Moka says:
Awesome job ! Better than EA’s worlds.
Dutchysim says:
Hey Sarah,
I already told you that I love this world. It’s another masterpiece :)
But is was wondering, I do see the salon but where is the tattoo chair?
Am I overlooking it or is it not in the world?
If not, no problem, I just build one :)
Thanks again for this world and I am glad that you and your loved ones are ok :)
Elizabeth says:
the only cc rabithole doors needed are the ones listed?
Elizabeth says:
I would think so but just checking as I don’t want the others if they aren’t needed… thank you… this world is so beautiful.. thank you for sharing it.
Sarah says:
Lol, dutchysim, it is entirely possible that I FORGOT to put a tattoo chair in… gosh, and I tested for a long time too, lol. so yeah just chuck one in there. woops! sorry about that haha
Sarah says:
Elizabeth, that is correct
wendylady says:
Dutchysim , I just took out one of the desk’s and a back end Station on left side, add a chair there.
Moved over The wall a bit Out side to plop in a drawing broad too.
————
Sarah I would also have to agree with Amanda on the lot size at first I thought i might be missing some stuff as there were so many odd size’s around.
Also About the size do you have home’s you recommend that would fit the odd sized ones?
Thanks
Sarah says:
er well you know, I just build to whatever lot size is there.. I honestly didn’t think they were particularly odd lot sizes. I don’t download homes, I build them.
Stef says:
I understand you probably use a lot of CC in your building and for that reason, it’s probably pointless asking this… but if you ever did feel like it, I’m sure everyone would hugely appreciate you uploading any lots you build for your own Queenstown game… hint hint. ;) I’m in the same boat as others, I’m not much of a builder and find it hard to find lots which fit properly or look right. ;/ I’m ever so fussy…
Sarah says:
I actually permanently deleted most of my CC while working on Queenstown, so it’s not out of the realms of possibility :) I’ll see what I can do.
Dutchysim says:
Oh, I would love to download your houses, Sarah. You have such a beautiful building style!
WANDI says:
so .. I have to say I am so SO in love with the set “kea Hemnes Bedroom set ” I wanted to ask you please, PLEASE turned him to the sims 3 and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I send you a kiss.
PS. I love your blog might not mean much because you say so you should read everyday, but I appreciate your creations are free. Now, goodbye and a kiss ♥. (sorry for the bad english but i speak spanish)
Blondie says:
Hello,
I love this world, maybe even more than Redcliff !!
Everything works perfectly fine, except the library, there are no books to read.
I know this is not a Queenstown issue. I have this problem with all custom worlds.
However, since I have never been able to solve it, I thought maybe someone here knows how.
The library in Queenstown had already several corral books and I have added some too. But it changed nothing. I have all expansions and am fully patched … any idea?
Otherwise, as usual, amazing work !!!! Thanks a lot
Sarah says:
No ideas sorry! I haven’t had this come up before, perhaps you have a book mod in your game or something? Try replacing or putting new bookshelves in there or something. My sims have no trouble reading books at the library, sorry!
StamperCat says:
This is the first world I have downloaded. It’s lovely and the houses are also. Can’t imagine how many hours you spent creating it. I was wondering if there are collectibles in the town….any seeds, rocks or butterflies. My sims always grow their own produce. :-) Thanks again for sharing your work.
StamperCat says:
Never mind….I found seeds, bugs, butterflies already. Haven’t spotted rocks, but I assume they are around. Everything seems to be working fine for me so far. Thanks again.
Sarah says:
Hey StamperCat, yep there should be rocks, gems etc, just gotta wait for them to spawn :)
wendylady says:
Well thanks for the homes :) I build too but IF I spent All my time doing so I would miss-out playing your great world. thanks so much .
gethane says:
I seem to be having a blind moment. I cannot see any pictures other than the families. Where are they?
Sarah says:
gethane, click on the first picture
Sarah.s says:
Sorry, but I can’t seem to find a stadium, I’m not playing the save file since it won’t won’t open in my game, is there one or should I add one?
Bethany says:
could you tell me exactly how i extract it from the rar and get it on the sims 3 launcher?
Vincenzo says:
It is people like you that push me to tget the rest of the expasnion packs to play yout beutifful worlds
thanku
gethane says:
oh my! This is so very lovely and full of character. Now that I’ve seen the pictures, I’ll have to go shopping at EA.
Sarah says:
Sarah.s, if there is no stadium, put a stadium rabbit hole door in the basement at the Mountain View Grounds lot, making sure the door faces out (the arrows point towards the outside)
Annie says:
Redcliffs, and Queenstown crashes my game…..neither worlds work:(
I have the sims 3 base game; World Adventures, and Late Night
The game tries to load your worlds, but crashes halfway through loading
Something I am missing?
Sarah says:
Probably. The worlds require all EPs, and it looks like you don’t have Ambitions. That could be why. Another thing is to try deleting your world caches folder in my documents (this is safe to do unless you are on a mac, when you restart the game it will generate a new folder), that often fixes worlds crashing on startup.
Ida says:
This is such a wonderful world. I love how detailed everything is and all the cool hangouts. Great job! But I’m having some trouble with the rabbithole doors, perhaps you could help me out?
I’ve placed the rabbithole door at Mountain View Grounds (in basement, just like the pictures you posted in a comment) and it shows up as a stadium on the map, but my sim who is an professional athlete can’t go to work – he just stands in front of the door in the basement and get an silly rout fail tantrum.
Another thing, when replacing the door at the city hall I discovered that the new rabbithole door was 3 spaces wide. Since the old door where only 2 spaces wide, I wasn’t able to center the new door. I suppose it’s a minor issue, but it kind of bugs me.
Before: http://i51.tinypic.com/2ur47lj.jpg
After: http://i51.tinypic.com/zvr5l2.jpg
Anyways, I’m totally in love with Queenstown. So thanks for a superb world!
Blondie says:
Just as a hint for those who have issues with the rabbit holes doors, I don’t have them, and never installed them.
I had all rabbit holes in rugs format, and did not want to change them for doors.
All I did is enter all rabbit holes, that obviously did not have the required doors, and placed the rug inside.
It works perfectly and it is easy to place.
Maybe those with issues with the doors will want to try this instead?
Just be careful not to forget any or you may get long and recurrent lags in the game.
Sarah says:
Ida, try turning the stadium door the other way, so the floor arrow things point outwards.
As for the city hall door, I have a place for it on the 2nd floor, to the left as you walk up the stairs, I wanted sims to be able to use the rest of the building, so didn’t put it at the front door.
Sarah says:
Thanks for that hint about the rabbit holes, blondie :)
Blondie says:
You’re welcome, by the way I only play with Queenstown now and have moved there all my families from Redcliff.
It is a beautiful world, absolutely perfect in all details, views and little corners. I love it!
It also runs very smoothly.
You have been actually able to do better than Redcliff … I didn’t think this would had ever been possible !
Tarsier says:
Im stunned! its very amazing :D~! Even better and with more detail than Redcliffs~ Do you think you can upload your .dbc file(s) for the Store content used in Queenstown (assuming it includes Redcliff’s aswell)? Im having that issue where im unable to install Store s3packs through the launcher and im not in the habit of decrapifying to install them. I would very much appreciate it and if you cannot do so I’ll understand :)
Sarah says:
I’m sorry I can’t do that for you Tarsier, I don’t have the right to upload store content, and I have them all installed as Sims3Packs myself, from the EA store.
Ida says:
Such simple solutions to my problems! And how stupid of me not to think about the green arrows pointing outwards. I guess I just panicked because my sims where getting job setbacks when they weren’t able to go to work, haha. Thanks!
Pat says:
Looks great, about to give it a try…
Lucky says:
Hello!!!
OMG!!! i love your world it is GORGEOUS!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful piece.
I have one problem…I cannot download the saves file for my saves folder in My Documents. For some reason it won’t come up in the Media Fire thing… can you help me? Because I believe that is the folder I need to have all of your wonderful people that you created (even though it might not be a necessety) I still want it because I love your people and I don’t want to create so many people and/or wait for story progression to take ahold of the 0 population issue.
Thank you! I will also do the stuff for the Firefighter and check the stadium doors as well… that shouldn’t be a big problem for me!
GORGEOUS!!!!!! ^__^
P.S. Please E-mail me @ latios123@yahoo.com to tell me the solution I’m having with the MediaFire sharing thing…when you find it. Thank you for your time and energy and beautiful creativity that made this. Thank you!
Take Care!
I’ll be waiting for your E-mail (or a reply to this on this webpage..I should be able to come back to this, I just hope you see this because this is your last comment on this page….
Love,
Lucky

Thanks Cipher, hopefully that helps Lucky :)
Lucky says:
Thanks Cipher, that was very nice of you to do that for me! That helped me ver much and I just copied it into my saves folder. Thank you Cipher and Thank you Sarah! You are amazing and very honest and a very hard worker I mist say because of all the problems some people have been having for different technical reason, you just stuck with your project and made sure it’s as perfect as it can be so that your loving fans (like myself! :D :P) can enjoy your FABULOUS (I must say! :D ;) ) work! Thank you! I’m going to go now and try out both, Redcliffs (since I just finished installing ALL of the CC, (boy that was A LOT!) and also going to try Queenstown and just have fun and hopefully everything will work out! (i do remember that I have to put the panic rouser alarm in the Queenstown fire station….did I forget anything else?) :D
Again, Thank you so much for sharing, this was really great and I know after all of the bugs and kinks have been worked out, this will explode even more into something big!
P.S. I cannot wait for your next world! (and or other things! :D ^__^ ;)
Thanks again!
Take Care!
Sincerely,
Lucky ^_^ :D

Hello there! ^__^
I have been reading your before post and have been putting in the rabbitholes for the City Hall and the Military. Ok I accomplished those. The problem is the stadium…I apparently do not own the rabbithole door for the stadium…I have all the other, for the Military, Police,Diner,Film, etc. but I do not have one that says for the Stadium….did I miss something? Because I know WHERE to put the door…I just don’t have it… it’s very strange to me….sorry to bug you.
Thanks!
Lucky ^__^
Sarah says:
Lucky you’re going to have to redownload it from MTS I suppose, not sure otherwise.
Karin, I am not sure why your patterns aren’t showing up, sorry :( The leaf pattern hasn’t been shared anywhere except with the daybed :)
I made that tile pattern after seeing it in an IRL interior pic ;) had to have it!
And yep that furniture in the lounge is the jazz age set, I love it!
Lucky says:
Hi Sarah,
When you mean redownload from MTS….do you mean the:
Jynx_LateNightRabbitHoles_R&C1.zip
Jynx_BaseGameRabbitHole_R&C2.zip
Are those what you mean? Because I googled the first one and it led me to MTS…so you want me to download both or one of the files to get the stadium rabbithole doors?
Lucky ^__^
Sarah says:
Lucky: well, the doors should all be in your game if you have the other doors in your game, they all come from the same set! So if you don’t have the stadium door, you will need to re-download the file from MTS, and reinstall them into your game. Make sure that you aren’t just missing it in game already, you may just have missed it when you were looking for them. They’re in the community objects section of build mode, and I think they also appear in regular doors. just mouse over all the icons til you find the stadium one.
Lucky says:
Hi Sarah,
Yes I thought that I had it as well. I will look again. If not, then I will redownload them from MTS. Thank you Sarah!
P.S. I still love the world and cannot wait to move The Cardigans in! ^__^
Take Care!
Sincerely,
Lucky! :D ^__^
Heaven says:
I haven’t actually played yet but this is the only world I have ever actually downloaded. It looks beautiful. Only one suggestion: maybe use CAW to create a lot that costs $14,700 to meet legacy challenge rules for those who DO like to play Legacy. Everything looks great though and I can’t wait to start exploring.
Belita says:
Thanks a lot for this amazing world, Sarah.
I had a hard time figuring out where the rabbit holes should go but it’s ok now! Ready to play!
xoxo
Blondie says:
Heaven, you can actually add the lot yourself, using this: http://dino.drealm.info/den/denforum/index.php?topic=207.0.
You can add any size lot you want, just like with CAW.
I have created lots that matches the sizes of some Redcliffs lots that i wanted in Queenstown. It’s really easy to use.
Lucky says:
Hi There!
Me again, I’m sorry but Rabbithole’s are awful things when they want to be. So I installed the Stadium Rabbit Hole Door into my game and I have it now, so i installed down in the basement and the stadium didn’t show up. What’s weird, is in the game, when I play a Household, they are given the option(s) of going to see a concert and a game… although the building is not physically there, it’s still the park.
So what happened?
Can you fix this?
Sincerely,
Lucky
Heaven says:
Blondie, it’s not the size I care about. More like the price. The most expensive empty lot is maybe 5,000 when it should be closer to 15,000. The only way I know to change the lot prices are by using CAW. Not the IngeLots, but thank you for the link. :)

Finally a good reason to go back to playing the sims 3! I just installed this world, and has become my favorite for the sims 3! Thank you! Now I’ll explore it a little more … ^ ^
Frani says:
I have been playing this world for a couple of weeks now and have to say that I absolutely love it! Thank you!! But unfortunately today I tried to use the computer to make my sim a professional painter, it didn’t work and then when I clicked on City Hall it didn’t give me any options either. I didn’t know if this was just my game or not. Also in a couple of homes my Sims complain they can’t do certain things, such as use the sink/stove but there is nothing there to block the path. Any suggestions??
Angelina says:
Hey Sarah, I absolutely love this town :D
but I think i’m missing something and that is that government house .. i looked everywhere but i cant find it D:
Sarah says:
Frani all I can suggest is replace the offending item? Might help :)

I can’t download the save file or the world file? I’ve clicked on it several times and it just pretends to load the next step, but it doesn’t open the file host or whatever it is that’s supposed to open after you click on the file. \:
Cyboid says:
Hi there!
I must say Queenstown is my favourite world for the sims 3. It’s so lifelike! I was wondering if it would be possible to release the CAW files for it?? I would like to add a few things to this world, to make it how I would like it (obviously JUST for my personal use!)
Thanks so much!
Sarah says:
Cyboid, I’m sure you’ll understand when I say no I don’t really want to release the CAW files. :)
Joli says:
Hello!
You’ve heard this plenty of times but I’ll just have to say it again, this town is gorgeous! It’s not too big and not too small, it’s just right! :) Everything is just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! :)
Anyways, I downloaded the Save Game and I followed your instructions but I the families don’t appear when I load my game up. Did I do something wrong?
Jaynee says:
I’m trying to put the rabbithole door on the City Hall and this is all I’m getting:
http://i53.tinypic.com/2zss8is.jpg
Help please?
Sarah says:
Jaynee the lot should still function as a City Hall. Mine does.
Andrea says:
Hi Sarah! I love the town! I cannot, however, get my sim to register as self-employed. I thought it was because the rabbit hole doors weren’t there for City Hall, but I’ve added them, and they still can’t go inside!
Sarah says:
Andrea, I don’t think its a problem with the town, it looks like its something that the patch borked or something. The sims in my game have no trouble registering as self employed, in fact my legacy founder is a self employed painter. Sorry I can’t help! http://www.google.co.nz/search?q=sims+3+can%27t+register+as+self+employed&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
Andrea says:
Sarah – I figured it out!!! The rabbit hole door was backwards. I told my guy to go into City Hall, but he still couldn’t get inside the room. So I used boolprop to teleport him inside that empty room, and then he was able to use the rabbit hole door. Then I just teleported him out and reversed the door in build/buy mode. All fixed!
Sarah says:
great stuff Andrea!
Purplepaws says:
I have never played a custom world, because I’ve always found them lacking in one way or another. But after seeing these screenshots, I’m ready to move my sims in right away!
Thank you so much for sharing this. You are an amazingly-talented creator, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next! :)
Diancarock says:
There’s a new EP out Generations, and my question is….has anyone played with this world to see if the custom rabbit holes are compatible to the new patch? If so I will download, but information on this would be great.
Michael says:
Lovely neighbourhood. The best bit is that cc is kept to a minimum. You’ve really outdone yourselves. Also can you make a chapel for Queenstown so people can get married? That would be awesome and if it could be with no CC.
gotmilk says:
Hi Sixty-ten,
Having played some with Queenstown and Generations, it runs pretty nicely. This is such a pretty world. One problem I am having after installing generations; my Sims that go on vacation never come back – they get stuck on the side of the road. Not sure if Generations changed routing or something. Anyway, I hope you will look into this, as this is such a great world!
Sarah says:
I’m not sure why that would be gotmilk, you can always type in resetsim in the cheat console to fix them.
Domino says:
First of all, this is the most amazing World ever and the one I will be playing from now on. There is just a thing… I can’t find any of the rabbit holes to change the door too. The military base… the city hall, that particular spa or subway, and I certainly can’t find the stadium. >_< What is wrong? I'm reading all of the comments right now to see if it has been fixed, but thought I would ask too. This is so perfect, I wonder what I borked. T_T
JohnBigOz says:
Amazing town, the Pleasants, Oldies and Burbs have moved in nicely and are enjoying Queenstown
But there are 3 things that kinda bother me, especailly with the addition of Generations.
1. Except for the Chinese Garden, I don’t think it’s wise to use W.A lots that much, especailly Academy on the School.
2. There is a very annoying “park” behind the house I live in (i.e Pleasants) because people keep going there despite that being simply a few trees.
3. Was it really necessary to add Park Benches?
Other than that, I am lovin’ the city :)
Domino says:
Alright it’s me again. Found most of them and got them fixed. I LOVE THIS WORLD! XD There’s only two things. One, where the military? I can’t find that one. And two… so the stadium is supposed to show as a plain lot? How exactly does this work? I mean like, what’s the idea behind it? I see the spa has a pool and hot tubs, for example. The subway stations have small stores, etc. So I’m wondering what the stadium is supposed to be, is all.
Thanks for all the hard work, Sarah!
JohnBigOz says:
In Basement, underground :)
Tarsier says:
Are you planning to make a park for Generations? I tried and well, im not good with lots :]
Sarah says:
Domino, the stadium, well I wanted a nice big open “sports” field like we have here in nz, rather than a huge stadium, because a large stadium in a small town like this is ridiculous. The Stadium rabbit hole door goes in the basement so it is out of the way.
JohnBigOz, feel free to delete or change whatever you want if you don’t like them… I made the world for myself primarily, and yes, I thought it was necessary to add park benches all over the place. Delete them if you want, delete the parks if you find them annoying! I don’t care, I don’t have to play your version of the game so I’m not worried :P
Sarah says:
Tarsier, what sort of park? I can give it a go I guess. I did make a chapel/wedding venue yesterday for Queenstown that I might share if anyones interested.
Domino says:
Ah, I see. Oh it would be so cool if it had like a footy court or something. Nice idea. I like it more than the regular big stadiums. :D
Engram says:
Have not tried this so far, though it looks beautiful and all my friends are raving about it. I downloaded the save game today and tried to open it from the main menu and it simply won’t work with Generations installed. I get a blank thumbnail and it says that I’m missing EP data. More like I have too much EP data, since I have all EPs and SPs installed, more than this save game requires, in fact.
I have downloaded the world file now and will give that a go. It installed fine with the Launcher. I’m really hoping that I can use this world. I did want the save game with the families but I am more than capable of populating this town myself :)
Sarah says:
er yeah you need the world file for the save game to work… should be fine if you have both installed.
Engram says:
Yeah, figured that out. After spending over an hour straining my eyes in Edit Town trying to find the rabbit holes since they were invisible in map view, which I figured meant that they were missing the doors (a map to where they are located would be super useful) it finally turned out that it would not let me edit the City Hall or Military Depot or the Stadium. It said that I was not allowed to edit lots outside my unit. So I have given up on making this town work since it has no City Hall, Military or Stadium as I cannot edit any of those three buildings. And I was definitely in Edit Town Mode and it did let me edit the Spa and Subway lots so not all the lots are acting that way. It does look pretty and it’s nice to see that people are able to enjoy it.
Sarah says:
most of the problems you have encountered have been addressed in the comments :) You may need to type in “Testingcheatsenabled true” and then “Restrictbuildbuyinbuildings on” to be able to edit the city hall & military buildings. If you do decide to give it another go, make sure your doors point outwards.
Engram says:
Sarah, I’m sorry but I am obviously more blind than other people. I had read the comments at the beginning and at the end but most of the answers seem to be in the middle so I missed them. I was not looking forward to reading 150 comments and I figured most issues would have been raised at the beginning, which they were not and hence my confusion about what needs to be done in order for everything to work. I’ll know better next time, but with instructions on how to replace the doors hidden in the comments and the preview album hidden in a picture link it’s been a baffling first time experience on this site for me.
Thank you for making this world. It does look beautiful. I’m too tired tonight to continue trying to fix it but I expect to enjoy playing it tomorrow.
Sarah says:
Hey Engram, I am updating the first post with some additional information that will hopefully help you. The information is in the “things to note & known issues” section, which previously only said that the doors may have been missing, and the names of the lots that may be missing the doors. I’m sorry I should not have assumed that everyone would know those cheats! Hopefully this helps solve your rabbit hole probs and you can begin to enjoy Queenstown :)
Also, what do you mean the preview album is hidden in a picture link? Not sure what you mean there, if you click on the first picture you will be able to look through all the pictures.
Engram says:
Sarah, this being my first visit to this site I had no idea that the album could be found by clicking on the first picture. When I hover over it, it just gives me the filepath to where the picture is stored. So I had no idea that I had to click on the picture to see the album. Again, this may just be me being obtuse due to being a bit sick but I did not figure that out until I read the comments. This does not matter, though. I think it’s just me having a stupid day due to being sick and the cold snap. I would normally have clicked on the picture just to see what happens but I didn’t today.
I managed to fight through the sleepiness and fix up the rabbit holes and put the missing firealarm in the fire station. I also placed a whole lot of the new play equipment from Generations in a park plus the chapel I had built to try out the new wedding equipment. So far so good, the rabbit holes have started appearing in map view and my chapel has pretty views. It fits the theme of the hood nicely, being made of white clapboard siding.
I know I’m 2 hours behind you so I’m surprised you were still up to answer my blabbering. Thank you for all your help. The town is indeed beautiful and I have enjoyed what I have seen of it so far.
JohnBigOz says:
Hey Sarah, I’ve noticed a strange glitch/bug with routing nearby the school, all of the cars seem to end up on the pavement :/ which looks weird
Also, some of the lots, if my camera ends up on the roads, it derenders the house (low detail) as if a lot was placed on the road (to make it preview).. which is kinda annoying, since my camera has to be within the lot for it to render :/
Btw, loving your world, it’s amazing!
Sarah says:
JohnBigOz, the lot thing sounds weird, how many lots is your game set to render in high detail? Hm, it’s not something I have encountered in my game, are you in tab mode when this happens? It could be that your camera is a touch far away or something and it’s trying to render other lots.. I’m not sure sorry. Does it happen in any lots in particular? I’m not sure there’s anything I can do about it sorry.
Tarsier says:
Park? Maybe one with the new content featured in the lot that came with Generations, spring rides, sandbox, tree houses, hopscotch, that sorta thing :). I’d really appreciate it and as for the new chapel venue, it sounds great. I hope you come around to sharing~
audiobebop says:
Not to be a hassle, but for some reason – I’m using the Queenstown save file – the game crashes when I’m in a taxi and driving somewhere. I don’t know what’s causing it, as I’ve tried visiting multiple places, but for some reason once I get past a certain point (which in itself varies) the game will get jumpy, and crash. I’m going to try this without the save file to see if this happens but I thought I’d ask for a bit of assistance.
audiobebop says:
In reference to my last comment, it still happens with the regular Queenstown file (with the world completely unpopulated save for my Simself) I’m still not sure why, maybe it’s something I’ve installed, I’ll let you know what my fiddling uncovers.
Sarah says:
hi audiobebop, I can’t think of anything in the world that would cause it to crash, there is little CC involved, and most of it is EA store content, so if it is crashing due to CC, it may be something you have installed in your game already. I’d try the world without CC or mods and see if it continues to happen. If you can note where he crashes happen that might help too, though I haven’t had a single crash in all the time I’ve been playing the world, and the only thing I could think it could be if it is a world problem is routing, and I’ve not noticed any problems in that area either… Let me know how you get on :)
Ally says:
I usually never comment but I thought your work was deserving of praise. The effort you put into these worlds are phenomenal. You’re the only person I download worlds from because I am unbelievably picky. Thank you for your high quality work, I can only admire the work that so many people can not do.
Thank you :)
Ida says:
It would make me so happy if you decided to share your chapel/wedding venue! It’s just what the town needs now that Generations is out.
Marianne says:
Hiya, I just downloaded the town and it looks great. But it seems that my sims are unable to take the firefighter proff. in your town. (I had to jump into one of the standard ones to just check that it wasn’t just my game.) Kinda ironic that my first sim wanted to do something she’s unable to atm. =p
Is there any way i can fix this on my own? Not really sure how to handle this issue.
Sarah says:
yes it has been addressed in the comments and in the first post. you need to add in a fire alarm to the firestation. :)
Sarah says:
Ida, I will endeavour to share the chapel today :)
gatopreto says:
First of all, this world is beautiful, and it’s clear that much care and thought went into it. Nevertheless, after downloading, I noticed two things that I would like to bring to your attention as constructive criticism:
1. Are there no street names? In such a exquisitely sculpted, organized and decorated world, I found it odd, especially since it would take you about half an hour (tops) to get it done.
2. The lots have weird dimensions, and aren’t flat. I understand it makes them more unique, and you built houses already in a lot of them, but most of the quality worlds uploaded have flat lots with standard sizes (20×30, 20×20, 30×40) because many people like to download houses to put their Sims in.
Overall, your world is absolutely gorgeous, and although what I found doesn’t make it unplayable, it might become even better with just a few slight adjustments.
JohnBigOz says:
About the weird camera, as far as I’ve noticed it happens in School and one other place I can’t think off
But you shoudl check routing around the school :)
Emma says:
Hi, this is the first time I visit your site and I love it!!! Thank you soo much for Quennstown, it is soo beautiful! I am having a little trouble undestanding the whole Rabbit Hole subject. I downloaded the Custom Rabbit Hole Doors and put them into the right folder. So what is that I have to do next? Im a bit confused and Ive read the directions a couple of time, but Im in need of some help.
Thanks again for Queenstown its really lovely ^_^ and I would really apreciate some help.
My email is :
Thank you! (:
Sarah says:
Emma, its very simple. All you have to do is go in game, and in Edit World, replace the missing doors in the lots that don’t have them, which are indicated in the first post, and you can find the locations of those lots on the map. You only have to remember to make sure the green arrows on the floor when you place the doors face outwards, or your sims won’t go through them. If the game won’t let you make changes to the lot, use the cheats indicated in the first post to enable the lot to be edited.
I am editing out your gmail address, it’s not a great idea to post your email on a public comments forum :)
Auxifur says:
I love the world. My sims just recently got married at the Monument. I immediately moved to this world as soon as I saw it and left behind Bridgeport the architecture and relaxed lifestyle is amazing but I’m not seeing much celebrities or a professional sports career!
Alex Birkett says:
I opened this up, and, as I always do with new worlds, I deleted some of the empty lots to smooth out the game a bit. I was just scanning over the top of the town center, using the world editor tool so I could get a good look of the town before playing, and it hit me. Breathless. Over the Sims, the Sims 2, and all the worlds I have ever looked at (including your last one) non of them can compare with this. NONE! Its simply devine.
OH I would even buy a whole new computer to enjoy every inch of this world. Your work, all of it, is apparently literally breathtaking!
Best of luck in the future and continue creating!
Andrea says:
Maybe I’m missing something, but I have no celebrities or vampires in this world. I’ve been playing for a while, and two different games. One with your saved game, and one without. No celebrities or vampires have shown up, and I can’t seem to find any to download anywhere…
Sarah says:
They’ll pop up eventually, Andrea, just give it some more time.
I have tons of celebs & vampires in my game. So unless there’s a mod in your game stopping them from spawning, all you need is time.
Emma says:
Oh! Thank you so much for all the help Sarah (:
Susie says:
hi, just downloaded queenstown, and im just going to install it just now, from all the comments on this post i gather i’m going to love it, count me as one of ur new fans and this site is now BOOKMARKED lol. :)
Sapphire says:
Hi, i just wanted to say that Queenstown is the most beautiful and versatile world i have ever played.
You have put so much work into this and it evidently shows, so thank you!
Also my thoughts are with you, and everyone in and around christchurch at this awful time. x.
Oh, also while i am here, regarding the sims, no townies are ever at any of the late night venues, i just wondered if i am the only one having this problem? (I have no idea how townies/NPC’s go about things.)
paris says:
Is there no sports arena to pursue the sports career and go to concerts? D:
Sarah says:
Paris, PLEASE read the post at the top and the comments if you need to. It is all explained and I’m sorry but I’m not going to go over it again.
Sapphire, I have plenty of townies in my game so check you don’t have any mods interfering with anything, and if thats all clear just give the game time to generate, these things take time.
Kaithleen says:
Love it! Downloading now and I can’t wait to play! Thank you so so so much! :-*
Rae says:
This world looks so beautiful, too bad I don’t have ambitions :(
KatCat says:
I was referred to your site to start my foray into TS3 CC by friends over at Living Sims. I must say that I am absolutely gob-smacked by your talent. Not only are your creations beautiful in game but this entire town and the especially the latest Generations park for it are incredible! I have the same problem with missing rabbit hole doors and some missing/replaced items in the saved game. I’ll follow all your directions to fix those things. Just by looking over the neighborhood last night I have to say that you did a stupendous job. This is exactly the kind of town I’ve wanted since the game came out. Thank you!
Mel says:
Firstly let me say I absolutely love your work, been an avid user of the Redcliff World since you brought it out and I would love to use this one, I have read through all the comments and the info at the top and I just cannot get the rabbithole doors or rugs to appear in the catalogue for me to put them in the buildings.
I am pretty sure I must be doing something dense, and any help would be gladly appreciated.
Thank you muchly!
Mel
Sarah says:
Mel, Thanks for your comments :) If you are having problems with the rabbithole doors, I would suggest commenting in the comments at MTS, perhaps the creator might be able to help you out.
Xeres says:
Hi! I’m new to your site. LOVE your stuff. I’ve managed to download and install your two worlds, but I am struggling a little with the saved games for both Queenstown and Recliffs. Are there any Mac users in your fanbase who can help me out? Thanks!
Leah says:
Hey, I heard this from a forum about your town, I have tried to download it before but it won’t pop up, do I need to put some where like a downloads folder or something? Please help
Jackie says:
I just picked up my Sims 3 game again after a long hiatus, and I stumbled across your website and Queenstown. I am beyond excited to try out this world! It is beautiful! Thank you so much for creating it and sharing your talent with us.
Anne says:
Hi Sarah! I love both Queenstown and Redcliffs. Thank you for them!
I have a problem with queenstown though, it seems that even if I put the panic alarm on the fire station it still won’t make the firefighter profession come out. D:
Anne says:
I added the panic alarm but it didn’t work. I tried setting it to no visitors allowed then fire station but it didn’t work. I tried bulldozing and adding the copy but still didn’t work. For now I just added the default fire station given in game. :( I wish I can make it work though. :(
Crystal says:
My my my, first RedCliffs and now this!
I downloaded Redcliffs a couple days ago and let me say it was stunning!
But it freezes every so often so I haven’t been able to fully enjoy it.
I’m hoping this equally beautiful town works for me because it could easily become a favorite!
I’ve search and search for a town that doesn’t lag with Late Night buildings.
Sunset valley is what I use to play because it runs so smoothly but the lack of party places suck!
Unfortunately I have no Sim Points to buy the lovely content that’s in the game.. sigh.
Well I’ll let you know if I have problems or glitches. Thanks for lovely free work.
Crystal says:
I’ve encountered two problems D; One of which I fixed myself but should be noted, and the other I need to restart my game to see. Firstly though anyone interested in a reasonably small lagless town that is still gorgeous this is the one! I haven’t been out to any Nightlife spot this place offers a wonderful alternative to the boring Sunset Valley.
The first of my problems was trying to visit one of the Apartments, I forget the name but the Ogle family lived there. Upon trying to visit I got a message saying that a call box was needed in order to visit anyone, I found the call box on my own finally and put it in.
This is also where I noticed my second and biggest problem, the lot didn’t load. The ground was all out of focus which usually fixes upon thoroughly entering a lot, though not this time, I didn’t think much of it because soon after noticing I went into buy mode to add the call box and it fixed. But the library has done the same thing. My sim disappears inside and I cant see her until she comes out, though I know she’s moving because she started reading a book. ;o
Rico says:
First off i would like to say THANK YOU for this wonderful town. At first i was a bit unsure about custom worlds, but after getting bored of EA’s, i decided to download one. Queenstown is my first download world, and i love it! Not to big not to small, and it runs perfectly with my game!
Question, how long does it take for the town to populate on its own? I’m getting bored of it being just me & the NPCs. I see some families moved in, but not enough to see them around town.
SmilyFace says:
Would it be ok to use your town in my legacy story? I would ofcource mention that it’s one of our creations :D
Sarah says:
of course smilyface, there’s really no need to ask :) I hope you enjoy it and your legacy is successful!
Raven says:
I have a problem that I’m not sure anyone else has. Whenever I attempt to load Queenstown, I get an error when it is half done that says ‘The memory at (0×000000843)-random numbers- could not be written, press OK to terminate the program and CANCEL to debug it.’
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. This ONLY happens when I try to load QueensTown. Help?
Sarah says:
Wow I’ve never heard of that before Raven! Have you tried running it without Mods?
Cheyenne says:
Oh my gosh, I must say that this is by far my favorite world!
Great job, I love all of your work! (:
Raven says:
I have tried but it still won’t work. And google isn’t giving me any solutions :(
Mackenzie says:
I am also having the same issue as Raven. It happens with both Queenstown and Redcliff. I have also tried searching google and I could also find nothing.
Juan says:
Queenstown is really beautiful. I fixed the Rabbit Holes and the Fire Station, and everything seems to be running smoothly, even if it’s really well made.
Dude, EA should hire you to make their upcoming worlds. I loved Redcliffs (maybe more than Queenstown because of the several beaches) but you have a Midas touch when it comes to The Sims!
I hope your city heals and you can move on with your life, and keep making me those stunning stuff so I can enjoy Sims 3 moar!
Sarah says:
I’m sorry Mackenzie & Raven, I dont know how to solve your problems.
Anda says:
This town is AMAZING. So much to explore. And the houses. LOVE.
Ashley says:
Hmmm for the Elysian Baths Community Pool (Spa), where is the rabbit hole suppose to go?
Sarah says:
Ashley, it goes on the corner between the 2 bathrooms, in front of the reception desk area.
Anda says:
Hello! I’ve been playing in this world for quite some time now and I love it. Unfortunately, now I’m experiencing lagging. I don’t know if you know, like, the game freezes for 20 secs and comes back and then after 20 sim minutes again and then again. I don’t know why. Has anyone experienced it? I’ve tried everything, “resetsim *”, Nraas Overwatch and nothing helps. At all! I’ve gone through the whole town looking for stuck sims, but nothing. I’m so frustrated because of this, because I really love this town and I don’t want to switch :/ I don’t know what else to do. Perhaps there are some “spots” where the sims build up and it could cause lagging?
Taty says:
Got the courage and install this amazing world! Is working fine now. I looooovveee everything. Love the sets you make and Queenstown is absolutely stunnig. I’m another brazillian girl who is ready to move to Queenstown and have a lot of fun there. Many thanks!
Daniel says:
@ Anda
I’ve been experiencing the same. I’m fairly positive that it’s a routing issue somewhere but I’ve scoured the town and can’t find anything. If you use resetsim * It will alleviate it for about a sim day but then a sim gets stuck somewhere again
Sara, do you know of sims getting stuck anywhere in the world?
Sarah says:
Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I haven’t had that problem :( I’ve been playing Queenstown since I finished it so I’d imagine the problem would have shown itself by now. I’m not sure what else to say I’m sorry guys!!!
Ive says:
I think you have spent a lot of work to make this world exclusive community lots and buildings. The buildings are great whit allot of sef make objechts. Thank you to share this beautiful world whit us !!!
I will make allot publicity on belguim and Netherlands websides for this world.
Keep on the good work !!!
Kaesa says:
Hello ^^ thank you very much for the world. Downloaded it and is trying to find the CCs that are not included. Managed to download the rabbit holes from MTS fine, but how exactly do I download the modular fireplace? The page in the link provided doesn’t seem to have any download options (and the picture links in it are down too it seems). I tried google-ing it but they all lead to that page again (which is good I guess but means there’s no other option to download it from). Apologies for the trouble.
Also, I downloaded Redcliff too ;) it is a very pretty world… but my sims keep lagging while playing in it so I guess it is way too big for me XD Still, much thanks for your awesome creations. Have been enjoying the bathroom set a lot.
Saben says:
Dear Sarah (it’s my name too!)
I just discovered your blog, and QueenTown, and it’s amazing! Very beautiful!! I have just a problem, you use rabbit hold, for the stadium, etc…, but i don’t want to use any mod with my game because I don’t know how to used it (I’m sure it’s wonderful but it scared me!). Can I download QueenTown and change all the batiment with rabbit hold by batiment from the game?
Thanks for your answer (sorry for my english, I’m a french who speak and write english very bad!!)
Sarah says:
Hi Saben, go ahead :) A lot of people put base game rabbit holes in the basements of buildings to hide them but to keep functionality.
Allie says:
Just curious.. is it necessary to have Late Night installed, because i absolutely hate that ep, but i love this world and want to download it.. but i don’t want anything to mess up, thanks!!
Daniel says:
I love both of your worlds and I wanted you to know that there is now a very easy way to find all routing issues in your world using a feature in Twallan’s SP. And your worlds will be all the more perfect
Here’s a step-by-step
http://sims3newyork.blogspot.com/2011/09/twallan-comes-through-yet-again.html
Oh, and thank you for the cornices. The world I’m currently helping to build couldn’t have been done without them.
Megan says:
Are the rabbit hole doors a necessity?
Sarah says:
Hi Megan, you would have to find some other way to incorporate the rabbit holes if you didn’t want to use the doors. I used them so I could maintain a “look” in the town, but feel free to change it as you like!
Bunniku says:
Hi, Sarah. I wanted to download QT; however, I cannot access the download page for the Modular Fireplace. Is there an alternative website?
Crystal says:
Still loving this world, can we expect a new world or update for Pets?
Sarah says:
Yep, Crystal, I have a pets update in progress now :)
Crystal says:
Yaaay! Can’t wait, love your work.
dihan says:
hey! i really impressed with this world :) but too bad my game isnt official. so can i not install the store contents? thanks!
Miyako says:
hi,dear!
i just install sims 3 and sims 3 pets in my pc,is it allow to install this town too?
and solo i am not useing sims3pack* files, can i exchange them to package* files to use?
thanks for helping me so much!!
Lisfyre says:
I’m a little late to the party but I finally got around to installing this world. Sarah, this is a gorgeous world :) Thanks so much for your hard work. After installing and playing here, I don’t think I’m going back anywhere :) I lost my legacy game a couple of months ago from files getting corrupted and I couldn’t save anything so I ended up scrapping it. Well… I’ve started a brand new one in this town of yours and I’m having so much fun with it. I’m also loving your simmies that you put in there. They are a lot more fun than the EA canned sims and I’m playing them too instead of strictly my own!! I hope I don’t bork anything when I install Generations :) Anyway, just thought I’d come by and tell you how much fun I’m having with Queenstown and to say thanks so much for sharing!!!
Annoymous says:
I downloaded the town, but since I didn’t have Late Night, some things don’t work, I went and uninstalled it and I’ll reinstall when I get LN.
Eddie says:
Hey,
LOVE the town, lots of fun.
Just a question, are there Deathfish in the town? I have been looking for them and cannot find them anywhere.
Sarah says:
telling you sortof defeats the purpose, eddie :P but you might try the graveyard ;)
cyliah says:
Hello!
I’m a bit shy and awkward about asking you this, but the people from the sims 3 forum told me you could help me so yeah… I hope you don’t mind ;~; (and hope this is the right place)
I’ve been seeing your worlds around tumblr, and I just love them ;w; They’re so pretty and every detail is so perfect, I really want to play them~ But the thing is, I don’t own WA, AM and GEN. I only have LN and Pets, and, you’ll agree, this is not a good combination to find good worlds ._. I really don’t want to annoy you, but is it possible to edit your worlds? I mean, can I like take your package and edit it to remove the WA, AM, GEN contents to make it work? I-I know nothing about editing a world with CAW, if it’s even /possible/ to do it, if it’s hard/time consuming or anything… I downloaded your worlds to see if I could first edit it with the game but it crashes in the middle of the loading orz
Thank you so much for your help!! ;___;
Sarah says:
Hi Cyliah, I have no problem with you editing the world if you can figure a way to di it. Just as long as you don’t release it to others without credit or something :) I don’t know how you’d do it, but you definitely have my permission :)
cyliah says:
Hello again!
Thank you so much for your answer! You’re adorable ;~; ♥ I’m really a noob when it comes to CAW, but I’ll definitely try to figure it out. Don’t worry about that, I’ll most likely keep it for myself if I succeed. Thanks again \o/ ♥
Jen says:
@valery: Do you have all the EPs required? You need WA, Ambitions, & Late Night. If you don’t have all aforementioned EPs, your game may close w/out warning (because of the lack of EPs). I’m sorry for not being able to offer a better explanation!
TeeBliss says:
I have your world Queenstown & it’s great, love it!
But I noticed that there aren’t any households.. then I seen the link
to download the saved game, which I downloaded, but not sure where to put the files..
I tried putting the files in the Downloads folder, then saves folder but neither works.. -_-
Kerley says:
Só tenho uma coisa a dizer sobre o mundo Queenstown ele é simplismente lindo.Amei super adorável é o mundo mais bonito que já baixei, parabéns pela criatividade e inteligência demais. Sem duvida esse é o melhor !
